Description
The Technical Accountant will support the Company’s accounting and finance organization by performing technical accounting research, preparing accounting position papers and memorandums, assisting with the implementation of new accounting standards and business transactions, and documenting accounting processes and internal controls.
This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP while helping establish scalable financial reporting processes and controls in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
Responsibilities
Technical Accounting
- Research and analyze complex accounting issues under U.S. GAAP
- Prepare technical accounting memorandums, position papers, and accounting policy documentation for significant transactions and accounting matters
- Prepare and maintain accounting policies and procedures to support consistent application of U.S. GAAP across the organization
- Assist in evaluating the accounting impact of new business initiatives, contracts, and strategic transactions
- Monitor emerging accounting standards and assess their applicability to the Company
- Collaborate with auditors to provide supporting documentation and respond to disclosure-related inquiries
- Support external audit activities by providing technical accounting analyses and supporting documentation
Accounting Standards Implementation
- Assist with the implementation of new accounting standards and reporting requirements
- Collaborate with accounting, finance, and operational teams to evaluate process and system impacts resulting from new accounting guidance
- Participate in special projects related to accounting policy development and financial reporting improvements
Process Documentation and Internal Controls
- Develop and maintain accounting process narratives, flowcharts, and procedure documentation
- Assist in designing, documenting, and enhancing internal controls over financial reporting
- Support control testing, remediation efforts, and audit readiness initiatives
- Partner with process owners to identify opportunities for process improvements and increased operational efficiency
- Maintain documentation supporting compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
Financial Reporting Support
- Assist with preparation of accounting disclosures and supporting schedules
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities including review of financial reporting packages are in compliance with U.S. GAAP
- Draft, review, and finalize notes to financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Participate in special accounting projects and ad hoc analyses
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 3–6 years of progressive accounting experience, including a combination of public accounting and/or industry accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Experience researching accounting guidance and preparing technical accounting memorandums
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or active progress toward obtaining CPA licensure
- Experience with a Big Four public accounting firm
- Experience supporting technical accounting projects involving ASC 606, ASC 842, inventory accounting, stock-based compensation, business combinations, or other complex accounting matters
- Experience with internal control documentation, process narratives, flowcharts, and audit readiness initiatives
- Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
- Experience working with manufacturing, aerospace, technology, government contracting, or other high-growth companies
- Prior experience with SOX compliance, internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), or external audit support

Compensation
Target Levels:
- Level 4 Range: $112,245 - $186,900
