The opportunity:
Own and govern the configuration management process for all transformers, high-voltage power equipment, and digital product lines. Establish and maintain product configuration baselines throughout the equipment lifecycle.
How you’ll make an impact:
Engineering Change Management
- Lead the Engineering Change Request (ECR) and Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes.
- Evaluate the impact of design changes on installed fleets, manufacturing, suppliers, and service organizations.
- Coordinate approval workflows for design modifications and product updates.
- Maintain traceability of engineering changes throughout the product lifecycle.
- Implementation and validation of approved changes.
- Manage obsolescence and replacement strategies for components and assemblies.
Product Data Governance
- Establish standards for product data quality, naming conventions, part numbering, and documentation.
- Govern master product data and associated technical documentation.
- Ensure consistency between CAD models, drawings, specifications, BOMs, and released documentation.
- Conduct regular audits to verify configuration accuracy and completeness.
- Drive data quality improvements and corrective actions.
Configuration Baseline Management
- Define and maintain released product baselines.
- Manage configuration identification for transformer designs, accessories, controls, bushings, tap changers, cooling systems, protection systems, and digital solutions.
- Ensure product configurations are uniquely identifiable and traceable.
- Control revisions, versions, and release status of engineering deliverables.
- Maintain historical configuration records for regulatory, quality, and service requirements.
Installed Base & Fleet Management
- Maintain as-built, as-tested, and as-installed configurations for customer equipment.
- Track field modifications, upgrades, retrofits, repairs, and modernization initiatives.
- Support lifecycle management of installed transformer fleets.
- Ensure service organizations have access to accurate configuration records.
- Provide configuration traceability for warranty, reliability, and root cause investigations.
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure configuration processes comply with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support ISO quality management requirements related to design control and configuration management.
- Maintain audit-ready records for customers, regulators, and certification bodies.
- Support product certification and qualification activities.
- Partner with Quality to investigate configuration-related nonconformances.
Digital Engineering & Systems Integration
- Drive integration between PLM, CAD, ERP, MES, service systems, and digital engineering platforms.
- Establish digital thread capabilities across the product lifecycle.
- Enable digital twin and asset lifecycle initiatives through accurate configuration data.
- Support automation of configuration workflows and change processes.
- Define system requirements and enhancements to improve lifecycle data management.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Act as the central coordination point between Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Service, and Product Management.
- Facilitate configuration review boards and change control boards.
- Support new product introductions and technology deployments.
- Coordinate product lifecycle strategies including sustainment and end-of-life planning.
- Provide configuration management expertise to engineering project teams.
Analytics & Continuous Improvement
- Develop configuration management KPIs and performance dashboards.
- Monitor engineering change cycle times and process effectiveness.
- Analyze recurring configuration issues and drive corrective actions.
- Identify opportunities for standardization, simplification, and automation.
- Champion best practices in lifecycle and configuration management across Services Engineering.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical)
- 15 – 20 years’ experience.
- Proven expertise in establishing governance in configuration management process
- Service lifecycle configuration management.
- Hands-on experience in any Product lifecycle management applications (eg. Windchill) Product configuration management.
- Hands-on experience ERP (SAP S4).
- Must have led digital transformation projects.
- Hands-on experience in integration of ERP -> product / service Lifecycle management applications.
- Must have collaborated with different functions such as Engineering, Production, Installed Fleet management, Field service operations and Quality
- Ability to understand concepts of product tree structure.
- Project Management skills,
- Ability to lead team to deliver results.
- Keep track of work progress, prepare reports for management reviews
- Problem solving and influencing skills.
