What you'll do
As a Team Lead, Software Development, your key responsibility will be leading the technical direction and delivery of Geotab's Marketing web development team. You will establish priorities and standards, coach and develop software developers, and oversee the planning and delivery of websites, landing pages, campaign experiences, content platforms, integrations and related web products. You will work closely with Marketing, Brand, Content, Design, Product, Analytics, SEO, Legal, Privacy, Security and other engineering teams.
To be successful in this role, you will be a collaborative, pragmatic and growth-oriented technical leader with strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex decisions to non-technical audiences. You will also bring strong planning, prioritization, risk management and stakeholder leadership skills, with the ability to balance speed, quality, risk and long-term value.
How you'll make an impact
- Lead the day-to-day technical direction and delivery of the Marketing web development team.
- Coach, mentor and develop software developers through feedback, technical guidance and career support.
- Own the planning and delivery of marketing websites, landing pages, campaign experiences, content platforms, integrations and related web products.
- Establish standards for architecture, code quality, accessibility, performance, responsive design, security, SEO and maintainability.
- Lead technical discovery, estimation and solution design while making pragmatic decisions under changing priorities.
- Establish effective development practices, including code review, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, documentation and incident response.
- Use web analytics, search performance data, experimentation and stakeholder feedback to identify opportunities and measure improvements.
What you'll bring to this role
- Eight or more years of experience in software development, including significant experience delivering production web applications.
- Two or more years of experience leading, coaching or mentoring software developers, or equivalent technical leadership experience.
- Strong experience building and operating responsive, accessible and high-performance websites and web applications.
- Technical proficiency with HTML/CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, C#/.NET, SQL, Git and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and deployment practices, preferably using GCP and Docker.
- Experience with content management systems, design systems, component libraries, web analytics, SEO, experimentation and privacy considerations.
- A post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication, project planning, prioritization, stakeholder management and collaboration skills.

The annual base salary for this position is the expected annual salary for this role, and may be subject to change. Geotab offers various perks and benefits and other compensation components that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary for this position depends on a variety of factors such as but not limited to skills, qualifications, education and overall experience, including the location the applicant lives while performing the job. This also includes equity with other team members and alignment with local market data.
