Within ING's Regional Restructuring Unit Netherlands (RRU NL), we are looking for a Team Lead Sector RRU NL. This is a unique opportunity to combine people leadership, strategic portfolio management and restructuring expertise in an environment that values collaboration, learning and innovation.

The Team

RRU NL is part of the Risk organization (CRO) within ING Bank Netherlands.

We manage restructuring and recovery activities in a prudent, compliant and data-driven way, aiming to preserve value wherever possible and maximize recovery when necessary.

Your Role

As Team Lead Sector RRU NL, you will lead a sector-focused team responsible for Business Banking and Private Banking clients with credit exposures ranging from €1 million to €20 million.

You will combine leadership, stakeholder management and restructuring expertise to help your team and portfolio perform at their best. In your role as Team Lead, you will be part of the RRU NL Management Team and will report directly to the Head of Restructuring & Recovery.

Your responsibilities include:

• Leading, coaching and developing a team of Restructuring & Recovery professionals

• Creating an inclusive, engaging and high-performing team environment where people can grow and succeed

• Managing complex restructuring and recovery cases together with your team

• Overseeing the RRU NL problem loan portfolio while balancing risk, recovery and efficient capital utilization

• Ensuring RRU NL remains operationally prepared for current and future inflows of restructuring and recovery files

• Contributing to the IFRS 9 loan loss provisioning process, including reporting and governance activities

• Ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations, including IFRS requirements, EBA guidelines and ECB expectations

• Driving innovation, digitization and process improvements, including the implementation of AI-enabled solutions and data-driven decision making

• Building strong partnerships with clients, legal advisors, auditors, regulators and internal stakeholders

• Facilitating knowledge sharing and helping embed lessons learned across ING

What You'll Bring

You bring:

• Significant experience in lending, restructuring, recovery or related risk management disciplines

• Strong leadership, coaching and people development capabilities

• A collaborative mindset and the ability to build trusted relationships across different stakeholder groups

• Strong analytical skills combined with sound judgement and decision-making capabilities

• Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English

• An interest in translating policy, regulatory requirements and strategic objectives into practical business solutions

• Experience managing portfolios and working in a data-driven environment

• Knowledge of sectors such as Trade & Retail, Services, Industry and Food & Agri, or the curiosity and ability to build expertise in these sectors

• Experience with Agile ways of working, transformation initiatives and digital innovation is considered a strong advantage
