Job Description: Team Lead, Sales Compensation
Job Summary
We are seeking a Team Lead, Sales Compensation to oversee the day-to-day administration, governance, and analysis of our global commission structures. In this role, you will act as a player-coach—managing a team of compensation analysts while directly handling plan modeling and high-level stakeholder escalations. You will ensure accurate, timely incentive payouts while aligning with the broader corporate strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Operations
- Supervise a team of Sales Compensation Analysts, managing workflows to meet monthly payroll deadlines.
- Conduct quality audits and act as internal Auditor on commission calculations, quota assignments, and manual adjustments / Exceptions.
- Act as primary escalation point for complex compensation disputes and policy exceptions.
Strategy & Compensation Design
- Partner with leadership (Finance, Sales Ops, HR) to calibrate Commission and incentive structures.
- Model commission and bonus scenarios periodically to provide management with clear analytical insights.
- Draft documentation outlining clear, compliant plan rules for the global sales force.
Analytics & System Governance
- Maintain system integrity within SPM/ICM software (CaptivateIQ).
- Deliver executive reporting on quota attainment trends, cost of credit, and overall plan ROI.
- Enforce internal controls and SOX compliance standards across all payment systems.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience: 13+ years in sales compensation, corporate finance, or sales operations, with at least 1–2 years in a senior or supervisory capacity.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and hands-on experience with modern SPM platforms.
- Analytical Mindset: Proven ability to transform massive datasets into executive-ready strategic insights.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to navigate sensitive compensation talks with sales executives.
