What You Will Be Doing

Tax Compliance and Reporting: You will be responsible for managing the preparation, review, and submission of various tax returns and reports, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations. This includes maintaining an accurate and timely filing schedule, monitoring changes in tax laws, and implementing necessary adjustments to ensure ongoing compliance and accuracy. This role also focuses on the tax accounting field that follows the tax compliance process. As regards regions and countries, this role is with a focus on this role is focused on Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, and the Netherlands and subject to change of region/country if deemed necessary.

Audit Support and Documentation: You will provide essential support during tax audits, including preparing and organizing necessary documentation, responding to auditor inquiries, and helping to resolve any issues that arise. They will maintain comprehensive and organized tax records to ensure compliance and facilitate efficient audit processes, ensuring that all tax documentation is accurate and readily accessible.

Tax Controls: Proactively reviews and supervises existing local GAAP reporting, recommends improvements or alternatives and implements them. Defines, develops and implements procedures and controls (system driven/ controllers etc) that secure tax processes. Recommends and develops new processes where required and implements them. For assigned countries, initiates, develops and supports projects related to international corporate tax matters. Makes recommendations and ensures consistent local implementation. Operates in full autonomy and with high technical expertise and dito energy.

Communication: Establishes and maintains contacts with relevant peers within the FedEx network to maintain alignment; across departments to influence and obtain collaboration and across levels to share expert advice. Manages relationship with external consultants and government bodies (such as tax authorities, industry association etc.)
 
What Do You Bring With You
 

• Excellent language skills (written/ verbal). English professional proficiency is a must. Another language beside English and native language is a plus;
• Diploma in Tax Law / Economics / Accounting / CPA;
• Knowledge of tax accounting;
• Excellent soft skills including communication, flexibility, innovative thinking, exposure on dealing with (senior) management, analytical skills, judgement and decision making, working independently;
• Minimum 5 years of experience in tax compliance (experience with a consultancy firm (big-4) is a plus).
• Technology and AI Proficiency: Demonstrates strong digital acumen and the ability to leverage tax technology, data analytics, automation tools, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of tax processes. Comfortable working with ERP systems, tax reporting platforms, and advanced Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Power BI. Able to evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, and use AI-powered tools responsibly to support tax compliance, reporting, controls, data analysis, and decision-making while maintaining appropriate governance, confidentiality, and data integrity standards.
