This is a Non-Employee Contingent Worker Role providing services for TIAA’s family of companies and will be employed by TIAA's preferred 3rd Party Supplier. As a Non-Employee CW, perform a variety of moderately complex business planning, support, and project-related duties. Demonstrates an exceptional standard of quality and holds themselves accountable to achieving excellent results.

Job Description

The CW-Production Assistant processes large volumes of paper tax documents from December through April. Work is performed in TIAA Kaspick’s production room, with a focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and meeting strict mailing deadlines. The role requires comfort operating envelope inserting and postage machines and handling high volumes of paper documents.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Prepares approximately 17,000 Form 1099s over a three-week period beginning in early to mid-January, with completion by the last day of January, by inserting each document into envelopes with a Privacy Notice and instruction sheet.
• Reworks changed 1099s as required and holds all documents until authorized for mailing.
• Operates the postage meter to process envelopes and performs quality control checks for proper sealing and postage amounts during the two-day period before January 31.
• Processes over 10,500 Schedule K-1s over an eight-week period beginning in early February, with 85 percent completed by the last day of February, including detailed quality checks comparing data across federal and state K-1s.
• Prepares K-1s for mailing by inserting them into envelopes with a Privacy Notice and instruction sheet, then runs envelopes through the postage meter and performs quality control checks.
• Processes approximately 10,750 federal and state tax returns over a six-week period beginning in early March, including detailed quality checks of both e-filed and paper-filed returns through multiple data comparisons.
• Verifies approximately 2,600 tax returns prepared for mailing to tax agencies and/or clients.
• Packages tax returns for mailing.
• Works collaboratively with team members to meet daily production goals and deadlines.
• Maintains dependable attendance and consistent output throughout the peak processing periods.
