RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages the Tank Farm operations according to the plant operating manual, written and verbal instructions.
• Controls final dilution of different grades of Hydrogen Peroxide for shipment to the customers.
• Transfers and adjusts finished product parameters in product Day/Storage tanks.
• Records and analyzes Tank Farm operating conditions, and maintains daily, weekly and monthly Tank Farm records.
• Analyzes plant product samples.
• Monitors the tank farm for abnormal operating conditions and faulty equipment.
• Operates Tank Farm equipment.
• Inspects road tanker/ISO-Containers for damage or contamination in preparation for filling/offloading of road tanker/ISO-container according to standard operating procedures, work instructions and safety regulations.
• Carries out tank farm isolation tasks in preparation for repair and maintenance work prior to issue of work clearance permit. Monitors plant maintenance crew/contractors work in the Tank Farm. This includes filling out the Hazardous Energy Isolation Procedure Forms as well as isolations and locking out of the equipment in the field and MCC.
• Maintains the housekeeping and safety of the Tank Farm.
• Drives a forklift as and when required to complete plant tasks.
• Carries out other reasonable tasks as and when required.
• Performs minor plant maintenance tasks as and when required.
• Compliance with the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and Responsible Care standards and procedures.
• May be required to assist in the main plant as and when required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Matric with National N6 Certificate in Chemical Engineering and minimum 10 years working experience in petrochemical/chemical plant operation or
• National Diploma in Chemical Engineering, and minimum 10 years working experience in petrochemical/chemical plant operation, or
• BTech Chemical Engineering, and minimum 5 years working experience in petrochemical/chemical plant operation.
• Very good English communication skills (verbal, listening and written communication)
• Motivation, confidence and development orientation
• Proactive team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
• Reliability and accountability with the execution of tasks
• Prepared to work on day shifts. May be required to work night shifts and on weekends as the need arises.
• Computer skills (MS Office)
• Own transport and a valid driver’s license
