We are looking for a strategic, hands-on and business-oriented Tableau Product Manager (BI Platform Owner) to join our team 🐶
You'll own Tableau as a platform for a large technology company's AI and data organization.
It's an enterprise-scale deployment with around 80,000 monthly active users and 15,000 publishers. We're seeking someone who sees Tableau as much more than a dashboard tool. You think in terms of content architecture, governance, performance and adoption, and you're excited to help shape how BI evolves alongside AI.
This role sits between business stakeholders and engineering teams. It plays a key part in extending Tableau with AI through Tableau MCP, custom Tableau skills and Tableau's AI agents. To succeed in this fast-paced, collaborative environment you'll need deep platform knowledge, strong communication skills and the ability to anticipate demand rather than only respond to tickets.

Responsibilities 🤓
Own Tableau as an enterprise platform, including content architecture, governance, published data sources, permissions and the publisher lifecycle.
Diagnose and fix dashboard performance issues across slow extracts, queries and workbook design.
Define, document and enforce best practices across a large community of content authors and publishers.
Build and run enablement programs for the user base, such as office hours, documentation and community initiatives.
Understand what each business function builds in Tableau and anticipate upcoming demand to shape the platform roadmap.
Partner with engineering to extend Tableau with AI, including Tableau MCP, custom Tableau skills and agent integrations.
Help the team define its approach to governed BI versus dynamically generated dashboards, weighing token cost, latency, guardrails and security.
Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and engineering, getting to the real problem behind each request and turning it into clear platform initiatives.
Required Skills & Technical Experience
Deep working knowledge of Tableau as a platform, not only as a dashboard tool: content architecture, governance, published data sources, permissions and the publisher lifecycle.
Hands-on experience with dashboard performance tuning, including diagnosing and fixing slow extracts, queries and workbook design.
Experience defining and enforcing best practices across a large community of content authors, along with the enablement material that supports them.
Understanding of what different business functions build in Tableau, and the ability to anticipate demand.
Familiarity with Tableau MCP and with building or deploying Tableau skills or agent integrations.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical audiences.
Availability to work Pacific Time (PT) hours, with meaningful daily overlap with the team.
Based in the Americas.
Professional English, spoken and written, at a level suited to stakeholder meetings.
Nice to have
Tableau certification (strongly valued)
Experience with Snowflake.
A point of view on governed BI versus dynamically generated dashboards, including token cost, latency, guardrails and security.
Prior experience in a Tableau Center of Excellence, or as an analytics platform owner, at a company with thousands of content authors.
Experience running enablement programs for a large user base (office hours, documentation, community programs).
Experience applying Tableau Blueprint for enterprise deployment, governance and adoption.
