The Opportunity:

University Operations is seeking to hire a Systems Administrator II. This role is responsible for managing and securing endpoint systems, administering critical infrastructure services, and providing advanced Tier 3 technical support. This role requires expertise in endpoint management, system security, vulnerability remediation, automation, and enterprise systems administration.

Responsibilities:

Endpoint & Infrastructure Administration

• Administer and support endpoint management platforms, including Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), and/or JAMF.
• Maintain secure endpoint configurations through Group Policy (GPO), Intune, and JAMF, ensuring compliance with university, security, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage and maintain endpoint privilege management solutions to support least-privilege security principles.
• Administer and support critical infrastructure services, including file, print, and license servers.

Security, Support & Service Delivery

• Monitor, assess, and remediate system vulnerabilities to strengthen the institution's security posture.
• Provide Tier 3 technical support, troubleshooting and resolving complex issues escalated from lower support tiers.

Automation, Documentation & Team Support

• Develop and implement scripts and automated solutions to improve efficiency, streamline administrative tasks, and enhance service delivery.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for systems, procedures, and configurations.
• Provide guidance, knowledge sharing, and mentorship to junior technical staff as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 6 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Microsoft Intune, MECM, and/or JAMF administration.
• Experience implementing endpoint security controls, system hardening, and vulnerability remediation practices.
• Experience providing Tier 3 technical support in an enterprise environment.
• Strong PowerShell, Bash, or automation scripting skills.
• Knowledge of endpoint privilege management and least-privilege security principles.
• Experience administering file, print, and license servers.
• Familiarity with NIST, CIS, HIPAA, FERPA, or similar compliance frameworks.
• Experience with enterprise patch management and software deployment.
• Experience creating technical documentation and mentor junior staff.
• Relevant degree and/or industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator, JAMF, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, ITIL or other endpoint administration and security certifications.

Special Instructions to the Applicants:

Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $64,518 - $80,648. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
