Architecture and Technical Leadership
Define and maintain the end-to-end SysOps software architecture for the ESCP-P program.
Translate ESCP-P operational concepts and system requirements into software architecture, interfaces, services, workflows, and deployment requirements.
Identify which existing Lightspeed SysOps capabilities can be reused and where ESCP-P-specific functionality is required.
Establish architectural principles, design patterns, and technical standards across participating SysOps applications.
Lead architecture reviews and document key technical decisions, assumptions, dependencies, and risks.
Ensure alignment between the ESCP-P solution and the broader Lightspeed system architecture.
SysOps Solution Definition
Define the SysOps capabilities needed to provision, configure, monitor, control, and support Mil-Ka services.
Develop application-level and cross-application architecture covering operational workflows, service management, fault management, performance monitoring, reporting, and system administration.
Define the required enhancements and integrations across relevant SysOps platforms and other operational systems.
Ensure that operational tools provide appropriate visibility into service status, network performance, alarms, events, logs, and customer-impacting conditions.
Support the definition of automation required for dependable and efficient military service operations.
Interfaces and Integration
Define and govern APIs, data models, messaging interfaces, and integration patterns between SysOps and adjacent systems.
Coordinate integration architecture with BSS, user terminal, network engineering, cybersecurity, Network Operations, Satellite Operations, and Systems Engineering teams.
Ensure traceability from ESCP-P requirements to architectural components, interfaces, and planned software deliveries.
Identify integration dependencies and risks early and establish practical mitigation plans.
Support integration, system test, and operational-readiness activities.
Security and Mission Assurance
Incorporate security-by-design principles into the ESCP-P SysOps software architecture.
Work with cybersecurity and program stakeholders to translate DND security requirements into application, interface, identity, access-control, audit, logging, and monitoring capabilities.
Define architectural requirements for system resilience, availability, recoverability, redundancy, and continuity of operations.
Support security assessments, design reviews, accreditation activities, and remediation planning.
Ensure that sensitive operational and customer information is handled in accordance with applicable program and organizational requirements.
Deployment and Operational Readiness
Define deployment architecture for applicable cloud, on-premises, edge, and hybrid environments.
Establish architectural requirements for containerization, Kubernetes, configuration management, CI/CD, observability, backup, disaster recovery, and high availability.
Collaborate with DevOps, IT, Network Operations, and support teams to ensure that the solution is deployable, supportable, and maintainable.
Define production monitoring, diagnostic, troubleshooting, and support requirements.
Support capacity planning, performance engineering, release planning, and production-readiness reviews.
Program Delivery and Governance
Support CONOPS development, requirements analysis, architecture documentation, program planning, and technical baselining.
Participate in PI planning, milestone planning, design reviews, CDRs, customer reviews, and technical working groups.
Provide architecture input to scope, estimates, sequencing, staffing, and delivery commitments.
Present architecture status, decisions, risks, and recommendations to technical and program leadership.
Mentor technical leads and developers and provide guidance throughout design, implementation, integration, verification, and deployment.
Promote consistency and reuse across ESCP-P and the broader Lightspeed SysOps portfolio.
