LandDesign is seeking an entry-level Survey Field Technician to join our team and support land development projects. This role is a great opportunity for someone interested in surveying, civil engineering, or construction to gain hands-on field experience.
You will work alongside experienced surveyors and engineers to collect field data and assist with surveys for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. Training will be provided on modern surveying equipment and field procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily field survey operations on land development projects
- Support boundary and topographic surveys used for site planning and design
- Help perform construction staking for roads, utilities, buildings, and storm drainage systems
- Set up and operate survey equipment such as GPS (RTK), robotic total stations, and data collectors (training provided)
- Collect and record accurate field data for use by engineers and designers
- Assist in locating property corners, right-of-way lines, easements, and utilities
- Maintain organized electronic data and field notes
- Help maintain and transport survey equipment safely and properly
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Willingness to learn new tools, technology, and field techniques
- Ability to follow direction and work well as part of a team
- Dependable, punctual, and safety-minded
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Work Environment:
This position involves primarily outdoor work on active construction sites and undeveloped properties. Work may include walking through uneven terrain, wooded areas, and working in varying weather conditions.
