The Surgery Service Representative 1 assists with all pre-operative preparations with the goal of ensuring an excellent healthcare experience for patients. Additionally, the Surgery Service Representative 1 acts as a liaison between the patient, surgeon, primary care physician, and the surgical facilities.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Assists with the maintenance of operating room schedules and reconciles schedules to records.
Reviews records to ensure compliance with the case management system and office guidelines.
Codes records with all necessary information for charge entry, on a daily basis.
Verifies insurance information and takes appropriate steps to obtain any missing information.
Maintains an organized record of charges by batching patient records by date of service.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license
Certification and Licensing:
Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
