What's the role?

Official job title is Supply Chain Manager - Asset and Inventory and will be based in Dubai, UAE.

The position will lead the effective management of equipment assets within the marine seismic survey industry. This role ensures that the organization accurately tracks, optimally utilizes, and strategically manages its assets to maximize operational efficiency, control costs, and support long-term business objectives. In addition, this position drives asset performance, maintains inventory accuracy, and implements best practices to enhance asset lifecycle management and operational reliability.

The role combines hands-on operational expertise with a strategic, forward-looking approach, ensuring that assets are not only properly accounted for but also aligned with the organization’s broader strategic goals. Working closely with engineering, operations, finance, and procurement teams, the successful candidate will ensure that all assets are managed efficiently, safely, and sustainably throughout their entire lifecycle. Key responsibilities include:

Asset Management Plan

  • Lead the development of a long-term Strategic Asset Management Plan aligned with business strategy and operational objectives to optimize lifecycle costs, depreciation, replacement, and maintenance.
  • Define the strategic objectives, internal and external factors affecting asset management (e.g., regulatory, economic, environmental) and stakeholder requirements
  • Document the asset portfolio and develop a summary of assets under management (types, criticality, lifecycle stage).
  • Aligned with the organization’s approach to lifecycle management and sustainability, support how decisions on acquisition, operation, maintenance, and disposal are made.
  • Translate SAMP objectives into actionable operational plans for asset classes or functional areas and establish the Asset Management System Framework in terms of policies, processes, and governance structure supporting asset management and establish the linkages between strategic priorities and operational plans.
  • Ensure integration of the asset management plan with other aspects of the management system (e.g., quality, environmental, safety).
  • Develop tools to monitor and report KPIs: OEE, downtime, reliability, utilization, and lifecycle costs.
  • Monitor, measure, and report AMP outcomes to ensure alignment with strategic goals and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the asset management plan supports ISO 55000 readiness and certification.

Asset Management System

  • Own and maintain the company’s asset management system, ensuring all equipment records are accurate, complete, and up to date.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve the AMS, covering policies, processes, procedures, and governance for the correct use, updating, and reporting within the AMS.
  • Standardize workflows for asset data capture, validation, and lifecycle management in ERP systems.
  • Maintain comprehensive records for all seismic equipment, including serial numbers, specifications, location, and condition status.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of equipment: acquisition, allocation, utilization, and disposal.
  • Monitor equipment aging and lifecycle progression, ensuring optimal asset retention and replacement strategies.
  • Track deployment and utilization of equipment across all projects, ensuring assets are efficiently allocated.
  • Identify underutilized or redundant equipment and provide recommendations for reallocation or disposal.
  • Analyze asset performance metrics, including OEE, downtime, reliability, and utilization, to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Train relevant teams on AMS usage, data entry standards, and reporting best practices to ensure consistency and accuracy and embed a culture of accountability, compliance, and operational excellence.

Inventory Management

  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective inventory control systems to ensure optimal stock levels. Balance supply with demand to avoid stockouts, overstocking, and unnecessary carrying costs.
  • Continuously monitor inventory levels across all locations and ensure timely replenishment. Set reorder points, safety stock levels, and lead times based on historical data and business needs.
  • Oversee and maintain inventory management systems. Ensure accurate data entry, real-time tracking, and system integrity.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and audits. Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions to improve accuracy.
  • Generate and analyze inventory reports, including turnover rates, stock aging, and shrinkage. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management.

Who are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Formal certification in asset management (e.g., Institute of Asset Management (IAM) or equivalent).
  • At least 7+ years of proven experience in asset and inventory management, ideally with technical or field equipment (seismic, geophysical or energy sector experience preferred).
  • Strong experience in developing strategic asset management plans and maintaining and governing an asset management system.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across multiple teams and geographies
