Summary of the Role

This is a head of supply chain role for the SinMalFrontier Cluster who is responsible for ensuring that the entire Supply Chain Management (SCM) function consisting of Planning, Logistics & Order-To-Cash (O2C) is maintained and developed in accordance with the goals of the business and at an economic cost. The SCM processes are effectively fulfilling business objectives whilst working within the framework of contributing to society through healthcare and all Terumo Corporation social and ethical guidelines. This position’s focus is to partner with the business to ensure all aspects of SCM drive efficiencies and support the organization’s growth expectations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Logistics, O2C and Operations Management

• Oversee & ensure Team’s timely incoming & dispatch of goods.
• Oversee timely month-end billing and reconciliations
• Monitor and approve purchase orders (POs) and shipping documents
• Manage and negotiate supplier allocations (supply cap), and sales orders to address discrepancies.
• Ensure Team manage defective goods claims and liaise return with manufacturers within GDPMDS stipulated time frame.
• Conduct weekly discussions with BUs and SCM teams on backorder status and shipment schedules.
• Prepare and update Global bid lanes and onboarding of Global Bid forwarders.

2. Planning and Inventory Management

• Ensure adhere to monthly S&OP cycle (Demand review, Supply Review and S&OP)
• Drive and ensure planning, operations and systems (SAP S4 & IBP) are correctly set up and supporting the business model
• Review and identify improvements to optimize inventory levels, ensuring alignment with agreed safety stock policies, balancing distributions costs and service level
• Review and Drive reduction of slow-moving and non-moving inventory (SLOBs) to improve working capital
• Review, propose and define appropriate safety stock levels with consideration of distribution budget
• Reduce inventory write-offs by implementing efficient processes and quarterly reporting.
• Timely compilation, reporting submission of write-off provisions to stakeholders and secure CAS approvals.

3. Sales Forecasting and Reporting

• Timely compilation and submission of monthly and quarterly sales forecasts and distributor inventory reports.
• Timely & accurate updates on sales forecasts, backorders, and stock flow to relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure accurate supply commitments are provided for Sales forecasting reporting and aligned with Finance team

4. Budgeting and Cost Control

• Develop and manage budgets for COGS (write off & Inbound freight), MDA labelling, and distribution costs.
• Review and steer shipment costs and logistics expenses, aligning actuals with budgeted targets.
• Review existing agreements and drive cost optimization initiative with 3PL providers on warehousing and domestic transportation/brokerage
• Prepare budget plans considering new product launches, product mixed and accuracy for new SKUs, including cost analysis for GPC codes and FCA.

5. Team Development in a BU-Led Structure for Effective Business Partnering

• The SCM team is structured in a way that support each business units with accountability to respective business unit leaders.
• This role is expected to facilitate communicate and execution in a regular cadence with respective business units.
• Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and foster professional growth.
• Implement operational excellence initiatives to improve team efficiency and effectiveness.

6. System and Data Management

• Oversee year-end SAP procedures and ensure data accuracy for the next fiscal year.
• Ensure smooth implementation of new product pricing and distribution updates in SAP.
• Ensure accurate creation & maintenance of SAP & IBP master data

7. Compliance and Audit Management

• Manage compliance with regulatory requirements for product registration and distribution.
• Facilitate GDPMD compliance and KPMG audits, ensuring operational integrity

8. Process Improvement and Automation

• Actively participate in Supply Chain Improvement Programs (SCIP) and process improvement initiatives, contributing ideas and implementing best practices.
• Identify opportunities for automation within the supply chain function, working closely with IT and operations teams to streamline processes.
• Develop & enhance Standard Operating procedures (SOP) documentation periodically

9. Other Duties

• Undertake ad-hoc tasks and projects assigned by management such as 3PL transformation.
• Participate in corporate social responsibility (CSR) events, process improvement initiatives, and team bonding activities.

Functional / Technical Skills

• Strong business partnering approach and stakeholder management
• Solid knowledge and experience in SAP S4 and IBP
• Strong understanding on planning, S&OP, inventory management and logistics operations.
• Experience in transforming supply chain organizations or leading transformative projects.
• Knowledge in import & export requirements, including Letter of Credit
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership capabilities. (Onsite & Remote team management)
• 3PL Management (Costing, WMS, TMS, EDI)
• Experience on Cost To Serve (CTS) modelling
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other data analysis tools.

• Demonstrated ability to manage change and remain focused under pressure.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree/diploma in business administration, supply chain, or related fields.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in supply chain management.
• Mandatory to have people management experience
