Position Summary and Qualifications:

Primary responsibilities for this position include directing the Supplemental Instruction (SI) program, managing the Peer Educators Acquiring Knowledge (PEAK) training program for tutors and SI Leaders, coordinating the Pathway to Success conditional admission program, offering consistent mentorship and support to Maguire Scholars, providing consistent Learning Strategy Consultation hours, and serving as a proctor for the Office of Student Disability Services during peak testing times.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Supplemental Instruction (SI) / Peer Educators Acquiring Knowledge (PEAK) program:

• Direct the implementation of the Supplemental Instruction (SI) program in coordination with department chairs and faculty members. 
• Supervise a student staff of 25-35 SI Leaders, which includes recruiting, hiring, approving hours, and collaborating with professors
• Train and observe SI Leaders and Mentors, including start-of-term training and observations conducted throughout the academic year
• Market the SI program through in-person classroom visits and web and print marketing materials
• Maintain the program by scheduling session times and rooms, securing materials, and processing schedule and room changes as requested by SI Leaders
• Maintain documentation of program attendance and report the information throughout the semester
• Evaluate and assess the program through design and distribution of evaluations to leaders, students, and professors; process evaluations and contribute to the OLR Mid-Year and End-of-Year Reports; suggest improvements to program as a result of the feedback
• Manage the Peer Educators Acquiring Knowledge (PEAK) program for tutors and SI Leaders

Pathway to Success Conditional Admission Program

• Coordinate the Pathway to Success program for conditionally admitted students.
• Reach out to Pathway students regularly during the summer months to establish rapport, build institutional connection, and ensure readiness for fall matriculation.
• Represent the office at Invisible Safety Net (ISN) meetings; respond to Starfish flags for Pathway students and coordinate interventions to support students' continued retention.
• Conduct targeted check-ins at midterms and finals to monitor academic progress

Additional Student Support

• Offer consistent and ongoing support to Maguire Scholars.
• Provide consistent Learning Strategy Consultations for 8-10 hours weekly 
• Proctor exams for the Office of Student Disability Services during peak testing times 
• Mentor students through the Rebound and PASS programs 
• Represent the office at meetings and on committees relevant to learning and student success

Secondary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Support university programs including, but not limited to, Admitted Student Days, Open houses, New Student Orientation, Move-in Weekend, and Commencement
• Work collaboratively and support efforts within the Success Center to increase retention and persistence to graduation.
• Act as a Data Security Steward to include: Maintain the accuracy, security and integrity of data within the area; create and maintain a secure office environment to protect all information resources within your purview; establish and enforce sound policies and procedures to manage the information resources assigned to you; may delegate responsibility to the Data Security Officer in order to assist with the day-to-day management of information; serve in compliance with the University's Data Stewardship Policy statement; 
• The person who holds this position has been classified as a Campus Security Authority under the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act)
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years experience in education, higher education, or related field (can be inclusive of work during graduate school)
• Excellent communication skills (i.e. grammar, vocabulary) to be applied to oral and written communication.
• Demonstrated computer skills in Google applications, including Docs, Sheets, etc.

Preferred:

• Master’s Degree in education, higher education, or a related field
• Two or more years of demonstrated experience in academic coaching, tutoring, or peer-assisted learning programs.
• Prior experience designing and running workshops.
• Prior experience supervising student workers.

Physical Requirements &/or Unusual Work Hours:

• Ability and willingness to work occasional evening and weekend hours

Pay Transparancy:
