NIGHT SHIFT: 8:00PM to 09:30AM Friday, Saturday, Sunday

This position supports both the Safety and Compliance and the dispatch team, by collaborating with team members, taking the lead in emergency situations, and prioritizing activities to maximize efficiencies. The ideal candidate brings a background in Transport Safety, a collaborative and curious mindset, and the ability to pivot and prioritize throughout the shift.

What you'll do: 

Safety and Compliance:

• Assist drivers with emergent situations, including following required protocols for accident/incidents
• Monitor ELD activities, ensuring drivers are compliant and actioning non-compliant behaviour; provide follow up support and training where required
• Ensure Drivers are completing required training and recertification
• Support Driver questions and concerns
• Ensure trucks are monitored for required equipment (e.g. spill kits) and parking area is reviewed for leaks and hazards

Dispatch:

• Obtain update from prior shift (including DP times, load types, non-retail load update, other critical information) and provide update to incoming shift
• Organize retail loads, non-retail loads and consolidate; assign drivers to routes
• Answer incoming calls as required

What you bring: 

• Exceptional leadership, organizational and communication skills

• Secondary Education in Transportation, Supply Chain and/or Health and Safety preferred

• 1-2 years of related work experience (Transport/Supply Chain/Warehouse) 

• Class 1 license an asset

• Ability to learn operate in multiple systems; prior experience with Samsara an asset

• Must have the ability to multitask, make decisions and problem solve .

• Ability to travel as required
• Flexibility to adjust schedule where required
