As a Runner at Abbey Road Studios, you'll become part of a team that supports some of the world's most celebrated film score sessions alongside a wide variety of recording projects. 

Working alongside our experienced engineers and immersing yourself in our unparalleled collection of audio equipment, you'll experience first-hand the craft, precision and collaboration that underpin recordings at one of the world's most iconic studios.

The Experience 

Picture yourself walking through the same corridors as musical legends, soaking in the atmosphere of our legendary studios, and contributing to the next chapter of Abbey Road's storied legacy. This isn't just a programme; it's a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in one of the world's leading recording environments. 

From setting up and packing down sessions to assisting on recordings and supporting ground-breaking projects, your role as a Runner will be dynamic and varied. Whether you're coiling cables, preparing orchestral sessions, calibrating vintage equipment or working alongside industry-leading engineers, every day will bring new challenges and opportunities to learn.

Candidates with an enthusiasm for orchestral recording, film scoring workflows and large-scale studio sessions will be particularly well suited to this programme.

Our comprehensive 12-month training programme is designed to build your technical knowledge, practical skills and professional experience through sessions with our in-house engineers, management team and experts from across Universal Music Group.

Commitment & Requirements 

This role requires a high level of commitment and flexibility. Studio life does not follow fixed shift patterns, and sessions may take place during evenings and weekends, often at short notice. Candidates must be able to commit to the full 12-month programme and demonstrate a flexible, reliable approach to working hours. 

Applicants should have prior experience in a professional studio environment, along with a solid understanding of audio equipment and studio practices. We're particularly interested in candidates with a genuine passion for film scoring, orchestral recording or music for screen, alongside a broader enthusiasm for audio, music production and sound technology. A willingness to learn, support others and contribute positively in fast-paced studio sessions is essential.
