Job Summary

The Stockroom Assistant is responsible for the efficient and organized management of inventory within the store's stockroom, ensuring smooth operations and timely replenishment of sales floor merchandise.

Job Responsibilities

* Receive, unload, and process incoming merchandise shipments, verifying quantities and checking for damage.
* Organize and maintain the stockroom according to company standards, ensuring items are neatly stored, clearly labeled, and easily accessible.
* Perform regular stock counts and assist with inventory reconciliation to minimize discrepancies.
* Replenish sales floor displays and shelves as needed, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained throughout trading hours.
* Assist in preparing merchandise for transfer between stores or for return to the warehouse.
* Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the stockroom area.
* Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding stock handling, safety, and security.
* Support the sales team with product retrieval and other stock-related tasks as required.

Job Qualifications

* Minimum of a Secondary School education or equivalent.
* Prior experience in a retail stockroom or warehouse environment is an advantage.
* Ability to lift and move heavy boxes and stand for extended periods.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
* Basic understanding of inventory management principles is a plus.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a positive attitude.
