Competently performs standardized instrument processing and decontamination to prevent the spread of infection, illness or disease. Works independently, exercising sound judgment to support the functionality of the department by disinfecting and distributing supplies and performing equipment maintenance, testing, and setup as needed. Integrates education and technical competence to execute safe and precise sterilization procedures. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety to help deliver optimal patient care.Job Description:

EDUCATION
HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
Other: Graduate of an accredited sterile processing program.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
Current certification as a Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician (CSPDT) by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution or as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) by the International Association of Healthcare Central Service and Material Management.
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED
1 year basic clinical and practical experience as typically acquired in a sterile processing environment.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
General knowledge of surgical tools, procedures, views, and equipment.
Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).

Pay Range is $36.66 to $51.32 / hourThe compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled.
