The Position

Join the StartUp Roche Diagnostics China Development Program and embark on an accelerated career path designed for future leaders. We are seeking individuals with High Personal Drive, High Potential, and High Mobility, who have no more than 3 years of professional experience in the healthcare industry.

As a Trainee, you will have a unique opportunity to gain a global view of Roche's business landscape, breadth of experience across the value chain in Roche Diagnostics China, and depth of knowledge in the specific function, given the China In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) market dynamics. This program will empower you to shape the company by making significant contributions to our purpose: "Doing now what patients need next."

The program includes the following development journeys: 1) Commercial and 2) Digital & AI. Over the two-year duration, you will complete up to four rotations, each with tailored goals and plans. As a Trainee of the program, you will be expected to:

• Complete tasks and learning objectives for each rotation as defined by the program framework;

• Proactively leverage your expertise and business knowledge to deliver patient- and customer-centric outcomes;

• Connect ideas and resources to generate value, prioritize investments, and make strategic trade-off decisions;

• Take responsibility for your continuous growth, ensuring your skills and capabilities align with both your passion and organizational needs;

• Maintain a high degree of flexibility for potential relocation assignments and business travel.

In the Digital & AI development journey, you will be expected to:

• Research & Pilot AI Solutions: Evaluate emerging AI tools and platforms relevant to commercial applications; test and pilot solutions before broader rollout with IT partners

• Enable Data-Driven Decision Making: Work across commercial functions to identify patterns, inefficiencies, and opportunities in data; create dashboards and insights for different stakeholders

• Develop Business Cases: Create ROI analyses and business cases for AI initiatives; demonstrate commercial value and feasibility

• Support to upgrade Internal Capability: Create simple guides and training materials explaining AI tools to non-technical users; support adoption and change management

• Bridge Technical & Business Teams: Act as translator between IT/technical teams and commercial departments; communicate trade-offs and possibilities clearly

• Identify Process Improvement Opportunities: Work with different functions to spot inefficiencies that could benefit from AI/automation; prototype solutions using low-code/no-code platforms

• Document & Share Learnings: Capture insights, best practices, and lessons from pilots; share across functions to accelerate organizational learning

Required Competencies & Background

• Education: Master's degree or higher in Business, Economics, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, STEM (Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology), or related fields; non-Computer Science background with business exposure equally welcomed.

• Technical Foundation: Proficiency in at least one BI tool (Tableau, Power BI, Looker); hands-on use of GenAI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, and local AI algorithm); basic understanding of AI/ML concepts; Python or SQL experience a plus but not required.

• Work Experience: 0-3 years of experience with internships or projects in data analytics, business intelligence, marketing analytics, pricing, operations, or other commercial roles.

• Self-Directed Learning: Demonstrated ability to learn independently through online certifications (Google AI Essentials, Coursera ML, DataCamp, bootcamps) or self-taught projects.

• Communication & Collaboration: Ability to explain complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences; works effectively across functions and respects diverse perspectives; fully fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese.

• Curiosity & Problem-Solving Mindset: Genuinely curious about business impact and how to apply AI to real problems; proactively identifies opportunities and is comfortable with ambiguity.

• Adaptability & Resilience: Flexible when priorities change, learns from feedback and setbacks, and embraces continuous learning in a rapidly evolving AI landscape.
