Empowerment Academy Charter School is hiring a Staff Substitute Teacher for our Elementary School to begin in the 2026/2027 School Year and beyond! This is a permanent position, not per diem. You would be a full-time member of our dynamic and fantastic staff and have access to benefits.

Salary: $42,000-$55,000

New Jersey charter schools ARE public schools. Our teachers are part of the Teachers’ Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF), just like teachers at other public schools, and teachers are able to transfer their pension credits from a traditional public school to a charter school and vice versa.

Requirements

Candidates must already hold a substitute teaching certificate issued from the NJ Department of Education in order to interview.

Candidates must have experience working with children and strong classroom management skills.

We generally seek the same qualities in assistant teachers and permanent subs that we seek in lead teachers. It is a major bonus if you have teaching certification or are working towards it. There is a lot of growth potential at our school for aspiring teachers.
