Job Description:
The AR Staff Accountant II is responsible for analyzing, researching, and preparing information regarding all RaceTrac, Inc. payables and receivables.
What You'll Do:
Reviews exception reports and works the exceptions
Processes credit card pass through transactions daily
Processes draft notices to collect payments daily
Ensures cash is applied timely and accurately
Actively works to resolve billing issues
Documents critical detailed notes for each disputed invoice to provide a historical account of decisions, progress made, and information discovered
Maintains communication with other departments to address areas for improvement, proactively offering solutions and implementing changes
Documents billing discrepancies and resolves customer-specific recurring billing issues proactively
Provides general clerical and accounting assistance to the department
Participates in special projects and handles all other assigned duties as required
Reviews AR Aging to ensure customers are current on payments (weekly)
Completes work related to month-end close, including account reconciliations.
Ensures all daily, monthly and weekly deadlines are met in accordance with the department calendar.
Develops and maintains strong relationships with internal departments and external vendors.
Perform ad-hoc assignments as needed.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University with a concentration in finance, accounting, or related field of study.
2+ years accounting experience.
Strong understanding and working knowledge of US GAAP.
Advanced experience using MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
RightAngle (or other accounting software) experience preferred.

Responsibilities:
- Prepares and/ or reviews journal transactions associated with wholesale fuel gross margin in accordance with GAAP, i.e. inventory valuation, cost of sales, transportation, storage, & other associated fees.
- Prepares and reviews account reconciliations.
- Prepares and/ or reviews weekly and monthly reporting. Analyzes and investigates variances between actual and projected results.
- Assist with the annual financial audit as well as monthly, quarterly and annual compliance reporting to the EPA.Carries out ad hoc reports/assignments as needed
- Clearly communicates and escalates issues and roadblocks to the Manager.
- Prioritizes work to ensure that major issues are resolved first
- Continuous process improvement and documentation
- Develops and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external counterparties
- Assists in the development and maintenance of department wide plans, goals, and deadlines
