Über diese Staff Accountant Stelle bei Sift
About the Team
Our Finance team keeps Sift's financial operations accurate, controlled, and ready to scale as the business grows. We own the month-end close, financial reporting, and the systems and processes behind them, and we partner closely with FP&A, Revenue, and business teams across the company to make sure the numbers tell the right story.
About the Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. This role supports AP, core general ledger, close, and compliance activities and is a strong growth path toward a Senior Accountant position.
What You'll Do
Prepare and post journal entries for non-revenue areas such as prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts (cash, prepaids, accrued liabilities, fixed assets, etc.) and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring deadlines and accuracy standards are met.
Post daily cash transactions and perform bank reconciliations, researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
Assist with fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules.
Own accounts payable end to end and support expense-related accounting as needed.
Help maintain and improve internal controls and documentation.
Assist with the preparation of schedules and support for external audits and internal reviews.
Identify opportunities to streamline and automate recurring accounting processes.
Experience leveraging and customizing AI/LLM tools (e.g., Gemenia, Claude) for day-to-day work, and general fluency with AI-assisted workflows.
Partner cross-functionally with FP&A and other Accounting team members on ad hoc requests and analysis.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
4–6 years of relevant accounting experience (public accounting or industry).
Solid understanding of US GAAP and general ledger accounting.
Experience with international accounting and IFRS reporting standards is a plus.
Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP) and strong Excel skills.
Experience with Expense Software (e.g., Navan, Expensify, Brex).
Experience with Tax Software (e.g., Avalara, Anrok).
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
Self-starter who takes ownership and is eager to grow into a Senior Accountant role.
