The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Test and Evaluation Engineer to join the LAND 4140 program. In the role you will coordinate and deliver assigned Test and Evaluation (T&E) activities while also providing critical support to the Platform Integration Team. This is a self‑driven, hybrid role operating across both T&E and engineering functions, requiring the candidate to work closely with the Project Manager, Army stakeholders and commercial partners.

In addition to managing and executing T&E and trial activities, you will contribute to ongoing engineering and integration tasks associated with designing, testing and installing C4 systems onto Army platforms. You will provide informed, high‑quality engineering and T&E advice to support future work take‑ons, platform upgrades and capability decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Applying Test and Evaluation (T&E) principles across all stages of the product lifecycle, ensuring activities are appropriately planned, executed and aligned with capability requirements.
• Demonstrating understanding of how Defence engineering disciplines—including mechanical, systems and safety engineering—interface with and support T&E activities.
• Supporting and authoring key T&E documentation such as T&E Strategies and Test and Evaluation Master Plans and providing T&E inputs and advice to Systems Engineering Management Plans, Safety Management Plans, and Configuration Management Plans.
• Providing professional T&E advice to support the achievement and maintenance of land‑worthiness for land military systems and equipment in accordance with relevant governance frameworks and technical regulations.
• Conducting mechanical engineering duties including, mechanical design review, engineering analysis, and integration of mechanical components within broader systems.
• Preparing and maintaining engineering documentation, including technical certification plans, engineering assessments, design artefacts, and verification & validation (V&V) reports.
• Applying mechanical and systems engineering principles to support the development, testing, integration and sustainment of Defence materiel.

As the ideal candidate you will bring:

• Qualifications in Engineering
• A qualified T&E practitioner with relevant and recent defence industry experience of more than 3 years;
• Good understanding of Defence Test &Evaluation Systems Engineering concepts;
• Understanding of the One Defence Capability System (formerly the Capability Life Cycle)
• Previous & current experience and thorough understanding of Test &Evaluation policies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team engagement.

All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active NV1 Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a NV1 Clearance or above should apply.
