About the Role
We're seeking a Partner Engineer to work with our security technology partner ecosystem. You will be the technical liaison managing integrations with leading security vendors. Working in collaboration with partner engineering and product teams, you'll co-build joint solutions, drive technical integrations, and ensure Databricks customers can deploy secure, compliant data and AI architectures. - Shape Databricks product roadmap priorities by translating security partner requirements, integration gaps, and ecosystem insights into strategic platform needs, working cross-functionally with Product and Engineering teams.
- Design and prototype security partner integrations, serving as hands-on technical expert and early validator of new capabilities and architecture design patterns.
- Build and maintain production-grade reference implementations, deployment guides, demos, and technical examples that demonstrate security architectures with Databricks and partner solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex security integration issues, serving as technical escalation points for partner engineering teams.
- Enable partners and field teams through solution documentation, technical articles, whitepapers, and demos to accelerate joint innovation and customer adoption.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of experience in security architecture, partner engineering, systems engineering, or technical solutions roles, with ability to quickly master new security technologies while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong knowledge of Identity, AI security and extensive experience working with REST APIs and SDKs.
- Experience managing strategic technical partnerships, with ability to navigate complex multi-company engineering initiatives, build consensus across organizations, and lead technical and architectural discussions with clarity and confidence.
- Hands-on technical skills with ability to prototype integrations using AI coding platforms, build demos, debug complex issues, and create reference implementations. Experience with scripting languages (Python, Go preferred).
- Strong understanding of modern security architectures, authentication/authorization patterns, and how security technologies integrate with data and AI platforms.
- Strong communication and influence skills, with ability to present to technical stakeholders and executive leaders, translating complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Availability to travel globally to partner sites, conferences, and events as required.
Preferred
- Prior experience in Partner Solutions Architect, SE, or Alliance Engineering roles at security vendors, cloud providers, or major enterprise software companies, with a track record of driving product-to-product integrations.
- Understanding of Databricks platform, with ability to design security frameworks
- Security architecture certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or cloud security certifications (AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer).
- Track record of creating high-impact technical content (deployment guides, reference architectures, whitepapers, blog posts, conference presentations) that demonstrates security best practices.
