Senior Manager – Security & Safety

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Senior Manager - Security & Safety to be a strategic partner and lead key programs and initiatives focused on protecting employees, visitors, and facilities through proactive security planning, workplace violence prevention, emergency preparedness, threat assessment, and crisis readiness.

This role will lead the implementation and ongoing management of Milwaukee Tool's physical security program for U.S. locations. The individual will provide strategic oversight while actively participating in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Security Management System, risk-based facility standards, security audit program, workplace violence prevention initiatives, and emergency preparedness and response programs. The role requires the ability to independently develop and maintain program elements while leveraging internal and external subject matter expertise as needed.

The Senior Manager – Security & Safety reports to the VP of Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability and works cross-functionally with EHSS, Corporate Business Operations, Talent, Legal, Operational Leaders, and Corporate Communications.

Key Responsibilities

Physical Security Strategy and Program Management

• Develop and maintain the enterprise physical security strategy and multi-year roadmap, including the prioritization of security initiatives, capital investments, and program maturity objectives.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve Milwaukee Tool's Physical Security Management System, including policies, standards, governance processes, performance metrics, corrective action management, and annual program reviews.
• Conduct security risk assessments and vulnerability reviews and partner with locations to prioritize and implement recommendations.
• Identify threats, vulnerabilities, and opportunities to improve employee and visitor safety.
• Partner with Corporate Business Operations and business leaders to incorporate physical security requirements into new facilities, renovations, expansions, and workplace changes.
• Provide security requirements and recommendations for sustainable security technologies, facility protection measures, and capital improvement projects based on identified risks, business needs, and corporate security standards.
• Establish and maintain the facility security classification model, minimum security standards, and risk-based requirements for manufacturing, distribution, service, laboratory, and corporate locations.
• Develop and manage the enterprise security audit, assessment, and corrective action program to verify compliance with corporate security standards and drive continuous improvement.

Workplace Violence Prevention and Emergency Response

• Lead the development and continuous improvement of Milwaukee Tool’s workplace violence prevention program.
• Support processes for reporting, assessing, and managing workplace violence concerns.
• Partner with Talent, Legal, EHSS, and business leaders to support workplace violence prevention, threat assessment, and incident response activities.
• Promote awareness and reporting of concerning behaviors and potential threats.
• Lead emergency preparedness programs, drills, and exercises for Milwaukee Tool corporate locations.
• Develop and maintain emergency response procedures for corporate locations, including fire, severe weather, evacuation, shelter-in-place, and other applicable scenarios.
• Coordinate corporate fire drills, severe weather drills, tabletop exercises, and preparedness activities.
• Conduct after-action reviews and drive continuous improvement following drills, exercises, and actual emergency events.
• Share best practices, lessons learned, and preparedness resources across the organization.

Program Leadership & Training

• Develop and deliver training programs related to security awareness, workplace violence prevention, active threat preparedness, and emergency response.
• Create awareness campaigns focused on situational awareness, emergency preparedness, and workplace violence prevention and reporting.
• Lead the development and training for emergency response coordinators and preparedness champions on effective emergency response.
• Develop performance measures and provide leadership with updates on program implementation and effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of experience in security, emergency preparedness, risk management, workplace violence prevention, safety leadership, law enforcement, military, or a related field.

·            Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Emergency Management, Occupational Safety, Risk Management, Criminal Justice, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Experience developing or implementing enterprise physical security programs, standards, or management systems.

• Experience communicating with and influencing senior leaders in an organization.
• Experience conducting risk assessments and developing risk mitigation strategies.
• Experience developing training programs and facilitating exercises or drills.
• Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive program implementation.
• Ability to travel periodically within the United States.
