The Senior Manager, Security Consulting Professional Services is responsible for leading a team of Security Consultants focused on delivering high-quality penetration testing, application security assessments, cloud security assessments, and related cybersecurity consulting services.This role is accountable for consultant performance, delivery excellence, resource management, utilization, customer satisfaction, revenue attainment, and the continued growth of the security consulting practice. The Senior Manager serves as a key leader within Professional Services, ensuring consistent delivery methodologies, technical quality standards, and customer outcomes across all engagements.
Working closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product Management, Security Research, and Professional Services leadership, this individual will help drive services growth while maintaining operational efficiency, technical excellence, and a world-class customer experience.
The ideal candidate combines strong cybersecurity consulting expertise with proven leadership capabilities, enabling them to effectively manage consultants, support complex customer engagements, and scale a high-performing security services organization.
Job Description
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Security Consultants delivering penetration testing and cybersecurity consulting services.
- Establish performance expectations, career development plans, and technical growth opportunities for team members.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and customer focus.
- Identify skill gaps and develop training plans to strengthen technical capabilities across the team.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts to build a high-performing consulting organization.
- Develop future technical and people leaders within the practice.
- Managing demand with adequate capacity.
- Provides senior-level leadership with monthly and quarterly revenue forecasts that include hours delivered and planned to be delivered.
- Identifies areas for process and/or service delivery improvements to optimize both internal processes and our customers' experience.
- Identify opportunities to expand service offerings and improve market competitiveness.
- Contribute to the development of new assessment methodologies, service packages, and consulting capabilities.
- Partner with Product and Security Research teams to align services with emerging threats and customer needs.
- Coordinates with sales leadership and the PMO on senior-level professional services quotes, project timelines, and current project status.
- Follows up with clients directly on open services opportunities for add-on Services (not net new) to fill the Services funnel.
- Communicates senior-level standards and best practices to the Services team and provides the proper training and documentation.
- Monitors adherence to Fortra and Customer Engagement policies and procedures and enforces accountability.
- Serves as a primary senior-level contact within the Services department to address or direct questions to the appropriate team members.
- Participates, as needed, in Product Council meetings and provides input to help drive product innovation and improvement.
- Always represents the Company and products in a senior-level and professional manner.
- Other senior-level duties as assigned by the leader.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity consulting, penetration testing, security assessments, or related professional services roles.
- 3+ years of experience leading technical consulting, professional services, or cybersecurity delivery teams.
- Strong understanding of penetration testing methodologies, application security testing, network security assessments, cloud security, and offensive security principles.
- Experience managing consultant utilization, delivery operations, and professional services financial metrics.
- Proven ability to lead teams in fast-paced, customer-facing environments.
- Experience working with enterprise customers and managing complex security engagements.
- A four-year degree is preferred. Equivalent work experience and accreditations will be considered.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Sound judgment and decision-making ability.
- Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Complex problem-solving experience.
- Ability to create, read, analyze, and interpret business and financial information.
- Experience in demonstrating leadership/influence and collaboration across multiple and diverse groups.
- Experience with PSA software is a plus.
- Strong relationship-building skills.
