Job Summary:
The Director of Financial Services & Analytics is responsible for supporting profitable performance, risk optimization, and member/customer value across the credit card portfolio. This role will support portfolio performance, payment applications, product performance, customer and lifecycle management contributing to the overall strategy, and will assist in P&L analysis. The role will partner closely with Finance, Risk, Marketing, Operations, and Technology to optimize acquisition, engagement, retention, and payment processing performance.
Essential Duties:
Credit Card Portfolio Strategy & Management
- Support VP in P&L management including revenue, billing performance, interchange, fee income, and expense management
- Develop and contribute to strategic growth around acquisition, activation, and usage
- Support pricing strategy development, line assignment, balance transfer strategy, and promotional programs
- Monitor portfolio performance and recommend actions to improve risk-adjusted returns
- Evaluate new product features, rewards structures, and partnership opportunities
Analytics & Decision Science Leadership
- Develop and maintain segmentation models, profitability modeling, lifetime value analysis, and forecasting
- Support test-and-learn experimentation frameworks (A/B testing, champion/challenger models)
- Translate data insights into actionable business strategies
- Build and evolve customer and internal facing payment applications, dashboards and KPIs for executive reporting
- Serve as subject matter expert in SQL-based data environments; extract, manipulate and interpret large transactional datasets.
Credit Risk & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
- Support internal audits and regulatory exams
Treasury Knowledge
- Partner with Finance and Treasury to analyze payment flows and provide recommendations to settlement timing, liquidity forecasting, and transaction cost management
- Oversee payment operations within utility/banking frameworks, ensuring operational efficiency and financial control
- Evaluate and improve billing processes, interchange optimization, fee income, and cost of funds
- Analyze transaction lifecycle performance including authorization rates, disputes, fraud exposure, and chargebacks ratios and improve payment acceptance
- Develop strategies to reduce chargeback
Customer Lifecycle Management
- Optimize customer journey from acquisition through retention
- Develop activation campaigns and engagement strategies
- Identify attrition risk and implement retention strategies
- Drive digital engagement and card-on-file strategies
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate with Finance on forecasting and capital planning
- Partner with Marketing on targeted campaigns and acquisition strategy
- Work with Technology to enhance data infrastructure and reporting
- Support relationships with payment processors, banks, networks (e.g., Visa/Mastercard), and external vendors
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Required
- 8+ years of experience in payment processing portfolio management, treasury management, or financial analytics
- Strong understanding of , pricing strategy, and portfolio optimization
- Advanced analytical capability (SQL, LLM’s, Python, R, SAS, or similar tools)
- Experience supporting P&L analysis, forecasting and reporting or large product portfolio
- Proven leadership experience managing analytical and/or product teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Business, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience
- Strong executive communication skills
Preferred
- Experience in fintech, bank, or credit union environments
- MBA, CFA, or advanced quantitative degree
- Experience with regulatory compliance in payment processing
