The pay range is $95,000.00 - $171,000.00

As a Sr Manager Enterprise Network Strategy, you will lead the business value and capability strategy for complex network decisions, partnering with Network Planning & Design, Finance, Operations, Merchandising, Inventory Management, Product, Data Science, Engineering, and other enterprise teams. You will own the translation of network design scenarios to measurable business outcomes, evaluate tradeoffs and risk, and develop decision-ready business cases that enable senior leaders to prioritize investments and capabilities. These recommendations will shape Target’s future-state network design and will be anchored to driving improvements across guest service, reliability, speed, cost-to-serve, inventory productivity, and long-term growth.

This position requires strong analytical skills, structured problem-solving, strategic thought leadership, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams through data-driven insights. You will be responsible for driving the network design recommendations and ensuring the relevant cross-functional teams are aligned at all levels of the organization. 

In this role you will:

Future Network Vision & Capability Strategy

  • Lead the development and evaluation of future-state network design scenarios, including network topology, node roles and locations, flow paths, inventory positioning, capacity, and service/reliability strategies across replenishment, fresh, fulfillment & last mile, indirect, and reverse networks.
  • Define the analytical approach and success measures for network design, ensuring modeling and analysis evaluate key tradeoffs across service, cost, inventory, capacity, speed, reliability, resiliency, and operational performance and answer the business questions required to inform future network decisions.
  • Translate network design scenarios into measurable enterprise outcomes, defining the value drivers, KPIs, assumptions, constraints, and decision criteria required to compare alternatives and quantify business and financial impact.
  • Lead the identification, evaluation, and prioritization of capabilities required to enable the future-state network, including physical infrastructure, process, technology, data, automation, inventory, and planning capabilities across network domains.
  • Develop recommendations that connect future network architecture, flow strategies, and enabling capabilities to enterprise priorities, required investments, key dependencies, and implementation sequencing.

Business Case & Value Development

  • Lead business case development with Finance and cross-functional partners, including operating and capital impacts, ROI, NPV, IRR, inventory impacts, service benefits, risk, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Establish consistent methodologies for valuing benefits that may extend beyond traditional supply chain expense, including service, reliability, inventory productivity, speed, and other guest and business outcomes.
  • Quantify tradeoffs across guest service, reliability, speed, inventory, capacity, transportation, operating expense, capital, resiliency, and implementation complexity to enable fact-based decision-making.
  • Translate strategic alternatives into clear financial implications, value creation opportunities, investment requirements, risks, and sensitivities.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Enterprise Alignment

  • Partner across Supply Chain, Finance, Stores, Digital, Merchandising, Inventory Management, Technology, and other enterprise teams to develop an integrated view of future network needs, opportunities, and tradeoffs.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment on network and capability recommendations, balancing functional priorities with enterprise objectives and long-term network strategy.
  • Drive clarity on key decisions, dependencies, ownership, and sequencing required to advance future-state network capabilities from strategy through execution.
  • Influence and align leaders at all levels of the organization by translating complex network, operational, and financial considerations into clear choices and recommendations
  • Present recommendations, financial implications, risks, sensitivities, and key decisions to senior leaders to enable informed investment and strategic decisions.

About You:

  • B.S. in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, Finance, Analytics, or related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, network strategy, operations strategy, finance, or related fields
  • Ability to use AI tools responsibly to improve productivity, analysis, documentation, and decision making.
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen with experience translating complex strategies and operational changes into quantified business value and investment recommendations
  • Strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills, with demonstrated experience leading complex analyses, working with large and diverse datasets, and translating data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
  • Proven ability to solve complex supply chain problems across service, cost, inventory, capacity, reliability, speed, resiliency, and operational performance
  • Experience building strong cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders to drive alignment and support strategic decision-making
  • Ability to influence senior leaders with clear, practical, data-driven recommendations and effectively communicate tradeoffs, risks, and decisions
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity, simplifying complex problems, challenging assumptions, and driving results independently
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex analysis and present enterprise strategies and investment recommendations to Director+ and VP+ audiences

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
