This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.We are a team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to a culture of safety. As part of a hardworking team of Machinists, NC Programmers and Technicians you will program, setup, operate and maintain world class, state of the art CNC machines to fabricate components for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of CNC machining and fabrication. You will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of CNC machines and equipment to produce accurate components enabling first article success on tight tolerance, high value parts.
This team in particular owns the machining of early-stage hardware across multiple business units, including Lunar.
You will be expected to take on multiple duties, from DFM input to programming CAM software to machining unique, low-volume parts.

Shifts available:
Monday-Friday 5am - 1:30pm
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Programming, setting up, and operating 2, 3, and 5-axis lathes and mills, EDMs, manual machines, and supporting equipment
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, models, and descriptions
Machining new or modifying existing tight-tolerance and high-value parts while balancing the needs for both speed and quality
Ensure product quality and conformance to engineering specifications.
Implement and refine new manufacturing processes
Work with engineering to document and standardize production processes
Collaborate with engineering to develop production-ready manufacturing approaches
Work directly with engineers to provide Design for Manufacturability (DfM) feedback
Actively participating in finding solutions with engineers that meet design and schedule requirements
Providing excellent customer service to all current and potential customers within Blue Origin
Cradle-to-grave job planning and execution including machine and material selection, tooling design, part programming using CAM software, machining and inspecting parts, and communicating directly with customers
Assisting with the identification and purchase of job-specific and general shop supplies, tools, and machinery
Working both independently and collaboratively within a team of individual contributors to enable every member to succeed in their respective tasks
Assist with transition from development to production by working alongside engineering to successfully transition products
Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency
Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission and vision.
Minimum Qualifications:
Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space!
Minimum of 5 years as a machinist, programmer, or machine operator
Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures.
A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with teams of various skills across large geographic distances.
Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment with rapidly changing priorities.
Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
Extremely customer-focused with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Work off-shift, extended hours, overtime, and weekends if/when necessary.
Exceptional organizational and analytical skills and a proven ability to drive complex projects with minimal oversight.
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years experience CNC programming in NX, Master Cam, etc.
Experience with Okuma or other CNC controls
Familiar with GD&T per ASME Y14.5
Outside processing knowledge (heat treat, plating, coating, grinding, etc.)
A proven track record of successful continuous improvement projects
Experience in an aerospace environment
Experience machining nickel-based stainless-steel alloys, copper, titanium
Tooling and fixture design
Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts
Experience machining tight tolerance, high value components
Base Pay Range for:
WA applicants is $47.01 - $65.81Other site ranges may differ
