Summary of Role:   

GlobalFoundries Fab 8 is seeking highly skilled and motivated Sr. Engineer, Factory Systems Setup to become part of our 300mm factory in Malta, NY. This position is within Route Build Department, which is responsible for creating and maintaining process flows in the factory systems.  This role is fully on site.

Essential Responsibilities: : 

• Perform as a lead engineer in the configuration team to drive setup requirements and implementation that optimizes the quality, performance, and customer-delivery metrics of Fab 8. 

• Contribute to establishing a strong, effective modeling and setup team 

• Establish and deploy leading-edge global factory systems configuration business processes and functions, building on the successful experience of the GlobalFoundries Fab 1 and 7 setup organizations. 

• Design and drive the use of common nomenclature, standardization, documentation, and change management, both internally with Fab 8 as well as globally with other GlobalFoundries fabs 

• Build relationships with internal partners including Operations, Factory Information Control Systems, Process Integration, and Supply Chain organizations 

• Support Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) with Operations and Process Integration and with other Manufacturing Services organizations

Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications: 

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, manufacturing, or other relevant field and/or equivalent training and experience 

• Experience: 2 years of experiences in setup of factory data using multiple configuration and execution systems  

• Technical background and experience with semiconductor factory systems applications including front-end wafer MES (SiView, FactoryWorks, Fab300, PROMIS, or WorkStream), Recipe Management systems, Statistical Process Control systems, and Business Process Management systems 

• Experiences in continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean Manufacturing 

• Accomplished analytical and trouble-shooting skills in factory systems 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively and communicate with all levels of an organization 

• Ability to work effectively in a global work environment 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience in a 300 mm wafer fab with a high degree of factory automation  

• Experience with the IBM SiView MES
