Job Description
Antheia is hiring a Senior Director of Facilities Operations and Capital Projects. The Senior Director of Facilities Operations and Capital Projects will include oversight of the following; Real Estate, Facilities & Maintenance, Security, EH&S, IT Administration, Lab Operations and Workplace. This person is responsible for direct leadership contributing to the achievement of site and company goals, and for managing site services and site development in a very cost-efficient manner. The ideal candidate has experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and supporting the needs of multiple stakeholders with projects ranging from standard maintenance to full site construction. 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day facility operations, upkeep, and maintenance of a multi-site business with extensive lab and manufacturing scope.
  • Manage security for a 24/7 operated facility licensed by the DEA for the manufacture of controlled substances.
  • Oversee and direct the development, construction and altercation of physical facilities at site locations, including design development with architects, selection of contractors and subcontractors, project management, and the establishment and monitoring of budgets for these projects. 
  • Plan, budget, and execute all equipment and facility-related capital projects, emphasizing delivery on budget and timeline efficiency.
  • Evaluates and prioritizes new upcoming facilities projects by creating budgets and timelines to meet company goals. 
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of critical vendor/contractor relationships to support building needs across the full portfolio of sites.
  • Manage support for day-to-day Lab operations management for labs across all sites.
  • Manage and prepare department budget for space utilization, standard office furniture, capital and leasehold items, time and material maintenance and equipment maintenance, workplace services, EH&S support and IT needs. 
  • Negotiates new lease agreements with current and potential building ownership/management and acts as primary contact for landlords 
  • Oversee facilities maintenance activities and budgets across all Antheia sites.
  • Act as lead for auditing/inspection programs.
  • Provides comprehensive site reporting for the company and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee occupational and industrial safety, risk management efforts and processes.
  • Benchmarks technology against major competitors and implements necessary changes to keep site aligned with industry. 
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations (DEA, EPA, FDA/Regulatory agencies). 
  • Enhance tools available for conducting business (hardware/software) while managing a tight budget. 
  • Clearly communicate project timelines and hold teams accountable for on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Provide overall directions and sets priorities for the site improvement projects and activities. 
  • Responsible for the effective 24/7 uninterrupted support of facilities operational activities and security. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned[1]

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related fields are preferred. Professional registration and/or certifications as appropriate. 
  • Minimum qualifications include 8 years of facilities experience, including 5 years of management experience, preferably in Biotech, Pharmaceutical or Chemical Industry. Preferably, experience should be broad based, including facilities, utilities, project management and construction management, and service contract management. 
  • Experience working with appropriate government agencies for permitting and approval of complex projects required. 
  • Direct experience with FDA and DEA are a plus. 
  • Must possess a history of strong leadership, deep practical facilities, safety and environmental knowledge and a proven track record for timely project delivery, project management, cost control and customer satisfaction. 
  • Technically proficient in industry standard systems / software applications such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, CMMS, etc., plus Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and general working knowledge of Internet for business use). 
  • Ability to comprehend high-level business strategy objectives and effectively develop / execute ‘roadmaps’, milestones, detailed implementation plans and KPI’s. 
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with all Company functional areas (e.g., Process Development, Quality/Regulatory, Manufacturing, Commercial, Legal, Human Resources, Finance, and Leadership). 
  • Strong financial acumen with ability to perform detailed cost analyses, manage budgets, perform make vs. buy scenarios, and identify areas for cost reductions. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others in a positive, collaborative manner. Ability to work well on cross-functional basis internally and with business partners. 
  • Work effectively in a team environment and interface closely with other departments within the organization.

 

COMPENSATION

Full-time base salary range of $235,000 - $280,000 plus plus an annual bonus potential and equity opportunities.  Compensation will be adjusted based on applicant's location.
