Position Purpose: Develop, analyze, and execute accounting and finance functions supporting brokerage and member incentive operations. Prepare managerial reports, financial reports, general ledger activities, and month-end close deliverables while researching variances and completing key balance sheet reconciliations.
Key Details: This is a fully remote U.S.-based position with a preferred schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CT. The ideal candidate will bring advanced Excel skills, experience supporting brokerage and member incentive accounting activities, and familiarity with Oracle PeopleSoft, Oracle nVision, or similar financial systems. Candidates should be comfortable supporting a fast-paced month-end close cycle, including additional hours during the first six business days of the month.
In this Senior Accountant role, you will:
- Support brokerage and member incentive accounting activities, including monthly journal entry preparation and variance analysis.
- Prepare, analyze, and upload journal entries into PeopleSoft and support month-end close activities through business day six.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and reconcile income statements, trial balances, and other financial reports for assigned functional areas.
- Report and advise on the organization's financial status through the preparation of management and financial reporting.
- Develop analytical financial tools for critical balance sheet accounts and recommend enhancements to accounting methods and procedures.
- Develop, implement, modify, and document accounting systems while adapting accounting and recordkeeping functions to current accounting systems technology.
- Maintain and roll forward Excel-based reporting files and assist with process improvements through automation, Copilot, and other technology solutions.
- Research accounting issues and may be involved with due diligence, integration activities, technical accounting research, and other business initiatives.
- Conduct special studies, support special projects, perform other duties as assigned, and comply with all company policies and standards.
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Master’s degree preferred. 3+ years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in public accounting or healthcare industry.
