A day in the life of a Squad Master/Product Owner

You will continue to drive the evolution of our current account packs from a business point of view. It is a flagship project that defines how we create the best value for our customers and for the bank. A balancing exercise to ensure the best customer experience, apply market differentiation and foresee recurrent fee income.

Alongside this key strategic responsibility, you will drive other change initiatives related to current accounts, ensure the team’s day-to-day operational activities are delivered to a high standard, and support team members in developing their skills and knowledge.

Your daily activities and responsibilities are:

• Monitor the evolution of the sales according to our KPIs
• Manage your squad’s backlog. Take the lead in Feature intakes, Daily Stand Up, Sprint Plannings, communication to stakeholders, in and outbound QBR requests, retro-sessions, etc.
• Deep dive in content. Master the vast world of Current Accounts and become ING’s next expert.   
• You are in the driver seat of shaping your product & packs. The PO of the Current Accounts squad always places the customer at heart while maintaining within ING’s Risk Appetite.
• Understand the design of the digital journeys in scope, intervene in related deliveries when the team members require, and help the team continuously improve these journeys.
• Support all RUN & CHANGE activities

As a Product Owner, you will have the opportunity to take a role with high visibility and exposure, interact with many stakeholders and aspects of ING. Put your leadership qualities to the test and contribute to ING’s strategic goals.

Your new team

The current accounts squad consists of Customer Journey Experts. The team is the owner of all business processes, workplace instructions and the digital journeys for customers and employees that support the offering of these products. Ensuring that changes on all our ING Current Accounts are validated, risk approved and having the best customer & employee experience at hand.

More explicitly, we look at following aspects.

• Currently residing in Belgium and legally authorized to work in Belgium, holding a valid work permit or visa where applicable.
• Master degree in Business or Digital Product Management
• 6+ years of experience in Business Product Management (Vision as well as daily operations), Customer Journey Management.
• Proven experience in driving RUN activities related to process execution and product management as well as driving CHANGE activities
• Proven experience managing a product backlog, leading Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Retrospectives, stakeholder alignment), and being able to support the team when needed & coach the team members to grow wrt product knowledge
• Strong knowledge of strategic vision, digital banking, current accounts with the ability to balance customer value, risk, and commercial objectives.
• In-depth experience in translating visions
• Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills, including supporting team development, removing obstacles, and driving squad performance.
• Excellent stakeholder management, clear and concise communication, and analytical skills, with experience making data-driven decisions and prioritizing high-value features.
