Specialist System Analyst
Grade: AVP
Business Area: Technology / Business Banking Technology - Recoveries
Reports To: Lead Solution Analyst / Engineering Manager / Lead Technology Partner
Role Purpose
The Specialist System Analyst is responsible for analysing business requirements and translating them into detailed system, integration, and technical specifications that enable effective technology delivery. The role acts as the bridge between business stakeholders, architects, developers, QA teams, and operational users to ensure solutions are feasible, scalable, and aligned to business needs.
The incumbent owns the analysis of system functionality, configurations, interfaces, and technical impacts and supports the teams through the execution and completion of the system design.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Analysis & Documentation
- Analyse, and validate business and system requirements.
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and user stories.
- Document functional, non-functional, integration, and data requirements.
- Ensure requirements are testable, traceable, and aligned to business objectives.
- Facilitate requirement workshops and solution discussions.
System & Solution Design
- Analyse existing systems and identify solution options.
- Produce detailed system specifications and process flows.
- Define configuration and integration requirements.
- Collaborate with architects to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
- Identify solution gaps and recommend remediation approaches.
Delivery Support
- Work closely with developers throughout the development lifecycle.
- Clarify requirements and resolve design issues.
- Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and reviews.
- Support implementation planning and release readiness activities.
- Ensure delivered solutions meet agreed business outcomes.
Testing & Validation
- Define acceptance criteria and support test case development.
- Support SIT and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Validate system functionality against requirements.
- Investigate defects and support root cause analysis.
- Ensure appropriate solution quality before deployment.
Production Support & Continuous Improvement
- Investigate production incidents and recurring system issues.
- Analyse root causes and recommend permanent fixes.
- Monitor solution performance and identify optimisation opportunities.
- Support change requests, enhancements, and system upgrades.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor's Degree in: Information Systems Computer Science Engineering Technology Related discipline / Solution Design Qualifications
Preferred
- CBAP, CCBA or ECBA
- Agile or SAFe Certification
- TOGAF Foundation
- SQL or Data Analysis Certification
Experience
Essential
- 5 years experience in System Analysis, Solution Analysis
- 5 years experience in Software Development, preferrably Salesforce or nCino related
- Experience working within Agile and SAFe environments.
- Experience producing technical specifications.
- Experience working with developers and QA teams.
- Experience supporting UAT and production deployments.
Preferred
- Banking or Financial Services experience.
- Experience with: Credit Systems Collections & Recoveries Platforms Salesforce nCino API Integrations Data and Reporting Solutions
