The Opportunity

Hammond Care’s Social clubs provide a social environment where older people can take a break from their home environment, connect with their community and spend a day socialising while being supported by our talented team of Specialised Carers.

Clients engage in enjoyable activities in a caring and friendly environment. Meeting new people and experiencing activities outside of the home can be refreshing and uplifting. Activities can include - socialising with peers, meeting new people, going on bus outings, gardening, exercise sessions, board games, reading, crafts and helping in the kitchen.

Shifts available:

Wednesday, Thursday & Fridays 8am – 4pm at our Mona Vale Club with some shifts at our Manly club

Responsibilities

• This opportunity delivers care within our Watergum & Beachcomber Social Clubs in Mona Vale & Manly
• Our Specialised Carers provide care in the Social Club that offer socialisation and supervision, according to each client’s care plan
• The Club provides organised activities and events for Clients to enjoy, including social outings and excursions for People living with dementia
• In some cases, you’ll have an opportunity to go offsite and provide care and supervision for our clients, and this would mean having the capacity to drive a 12-Seater Bus

About you

• Australian Drivers license
• No formal qualification is necessary; however, Certificate III Individual Support is an advantage
• First Aid certificate desirable
• Working With Children Check
• Empathy and compassion are a must
• We provide job training if you have the willingness and desire to learn
• Good administrative and computer skills, including the use of a smartphone
• A strong team player, who can communicate professionally changes in care, complete all documentation, whilst maintaining confidentiality.​
• Must have Australian work rights to be eligible for this position

In return for your expertise, we offer:

• $32.91 to $36.50 per hour plus casual loading for casual staff members
• full training to all care workers (no experience is necessary)
• salary packaging $15,900 annually for living expenses, plus up to $2,650 each year for entertainment benefits
