The Opportunity:

Join a mission-focused team supporting the Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS), a globally networked Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) enterprise that delivers timely, tailored intelligence to warfighters and Combatant Commanders worldwide.

AF DCGS provides 24/7/365 near-real-time, multi-intelligence capabilities by tasking ISR sensors and processing, exploiting, and disseminating intelligence from airborne, national, and commercial sources. Operating through a federated and distributed architecture, the enterprise integrates diverse data, platforms, and mission systems to support operations across multiple theaters.

As a Solutions Architect, you will provide technical leadership across complex enterprise environments, translating mission and stakeholder needs into secure, scalable, and integrated technology solutions. You will work closely with government customers, engineering teams, governance bodies, and Integrated Product Teams to shape architecture decisions that strengthen mission capability today and enable future growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical advisor to architecture review boards, working groups, governance forums, and Integrated Product Teams.
  • Lead technical coordination and collaboration with government customers, stakeholders, engineers, and program teams throughout the solution lifecycle.
  • Analyze complex engineering, business, data-processing, application, system, and network challenges; develop practical, mission-aligned solutions.
  • Design end-to-end solution architectures that address functional requirements, security, performance, scalability, interoperability, maintainability, and integration with existing systems.
  • Define and document current-state and future-state architectures, technical roadmaps, interfaces, workflows, dependencies, and implementation approaches.
  • Perform systems management and integration activities, including evaluating system capabilities, workflows, schedules, technical constraints, and operational impacts.
  • Assess existing enterprise systems and recommend improvements to architecture, processes, tools, and technology implementations.
  • Translate operational and business requirements into actionable technical solutions and clearly communicate technical tradeoffs to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Provide specialized technical support for integrated and standalone AF DCGS systems, applications, and equipment.
  • Evaluate commercially available software, cloud services, and technology products; provide recommendations based on mission, security, and enterprise requirements.
  • Identify technical risks, dependencies, and integration challenges early and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and solution design artifacts.
  • Perform assigned duties independently while contributing effectively within a cross-functional, mission-focused team.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • 10+ years of progressive engineering, systems integration, enterprise IT, solutions architecture, or closely related technical experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline; or an Associate’s degree plus four additional years of relevant enterprise IT experience.
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification, such as Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA Security, GICSP, or an equivalent approved certification.
  • Experience developing technical solutions for complex enterprise, cloud, data, application, infrastructure, or network environments.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts, architecture decisions, risks, and recommendations clearly to customers, leadership, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.

Desired:

  • Experience supporting ISR, intelligence community, DoD, or other mission-critical government environments.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Microsoft Azure.
  • Familiarity with cloud architecture, hybrid-cloud integration, automation, and secure cloud services.
  • ITIL 4 Foundation certification.
  • Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks, systems engineering practices, Agile delivery, or DevSecOps.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, RMF, system hardening, and secure system integration.
