Liquid Personnel is recruiting an Adult’s Social Worker to join its client’s Safeguarding team, based in Swindon. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner to work with adults at risk, carrying out complex safeguarding work, assessments, and interventions that promote safety, independence, and positive outcomes.

The successful candidate will manage complex cases and safeguarding enquiries, working autonomously whilst collaborating closely with health professionals, police, partner agencies, service users, and carers. You will play a key role in protecting vulnerable adults, applying relevant legislation, and ensuring person-centred practice remains at the heart of all interventions. This role requires a confident social worker with strong assessment, risk management, and decision-making skills who can work effectively within a fast-paced safeguarding environment.

What will your responsibilities be? 

• Undertaking complex, person-centred assessments to identify needs, risks, strengths, and desired outcomes.
• Completing Mental Capacity Assessments and contributing to Best Interest decision-making processes in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
• Leading safeguarding work, including Section 42 enquiries, adult protection planning, risk management, and safeguarding interventions.
• Managing a complex caseload involving adults at risk, ensuring appropriate and timely interventions are delivered.
• Supporting carers and families whilst promoting strengths-based and person-centred practice.
• Applying legislation including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Continuing Healthcare guidance to inform professional decision-making.
• Working collaboratively with health services, police, legal services, and partner agencies to coordinate effective safeguarding responses.
• Preparing high-quality assessments, reports, court documentation, and professional records in accordance with statutory and organisational requirements.
• Presenting evidence at court and professional meetings where required.
• Supporting and mentoring less experienced social workers, students, and ASYE practitioners to promote best practice and professional development.
• Contributing to service development, peer learning, and continuous improvement initiatives across the safeguarding service. 

Qualifications and Experience: 

To be successful in this role you must have;  

• Professional Qualification: MA, BA, BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, CQSW, or equivalent recognised Social Work qualification.
• Registration: Must be registered with Social Work England.
• Experience: Substantial post-qualified experience within Adult Social Care, including safeguarding adults, complex assessments, and risk management.
• Legislation Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Continuing Healthcare guidance, Adult Safeguarding legislation, and professional standards.
• Assessment Skills: Extensive experience undertaking complex assessments, investigations, and safeguarding enquiries.
• Multi-Agency Working: Proven experience working effectively with health services, police, and partner agencies.
• Leadership Skills: Experience providing mentoring, supervision, coaching, or support to colleagues and students.
• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, report-writing, presentation, and decision-making skills.
• IT Skills: Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications and social care recording systems.
• Professional Development: Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining high standards of social work practice.
