A Brief Summary of This Position

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the　Shipping and Receiving Supervisor position in the Coatings Division.　We are looking for a　highly　driven individual that will Lead, Train, and Coordinate the daily activities of the Shipping and Receiving Team Members and the Production Scheduler.

Essential Functions

• Directly supervise the Shipping and Receiving Department.
• Coordinate receiving and shipping needs with production schedules to meet the requirements of customers
• Handle yard storage and inventories of customer materials
• Monitor and audit incoming and outgoing shipping activities of customer material
• Review and validate shipping instructions and schedules
• Work directly with the Production Scheduler to create and revise schedules and priorities
• Complete root cause investigations of damages or shortages in customer loads
• Coordinate Shipping and Receiving functions and communicate with Equipment Operators, Production Supervisors, Crew Leads, Customer Service Rep and Scheduler
• Be actively engaged in Safety Meetings, Training and Mentoring

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Three years of previous Supervisory Experience
• Minimum 1-2 years of Lean training
• Ability to pay attention to detail
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
• Working Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and side loader equipment.
• Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
• Must have a high awareness for safety at all times
• Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

Highly qualified candidates will also possess:

• Three years Shipping and Receiving or Distribution position
• Ability to communicate and interact with co-workers in a positive manner
• Solid decision making and problem solving skills
• Ability of manage multiple projects
• Knowledge of Visual Shop
• Three or more years of Lean
