Your opportunity
You will prepare and serve meals in line with residents’ dietary requirements, food safety standards and Anglicare procedures. You will provide a supportive environment where teamwork and shared commitment ensure every meal is served with warmth, safety, and professionalism.
Your role is to create a positive mealtime experience that supports residents’ health, dignity, and emotional wellbeing through attentive service and collaboration with kitchen and care teams.
With kindness and understanding, you will:
Prepare, present and serve meals to residents
Follow individual dietary, texture and meal requirements
Check food temperature, presentation and serving standards
Maintain clean and safe kitchen, dining and storage areas
Welcome residents warmly and report relevant changes to your supervisor
What you’ll bring
You understand that mealtimes are an important part of each resident’s day. You will treat residents with dignity and respect while contributing to a safe, welcoming environment.
Empathy to interact respectfully with elderly residents, attention to detail to follow dietary requirements, and knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices. You share our organisational values of integrity, justice, compassion and excellence, and bring them to everything you do.
What’s required:
A minimum of 6 months experience working in a food service, kitchen or hospitality environment
Experience preparing, presenting or serving meals
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance
Current First Aid Certificate
What’s preferred:
Experience working in residential aged care
Food Handling Certificate or equivalent food safety training
Experience supporting dietary, allergen or texture-modified meal requirements
Experience maintaining kitchen and food service areas
Availability to work Monday to Friday 2:30pm - 7pm.
