About Analog Devices

Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) is a global semiconductor leader that bridges the physical and digital worlds to enable breakthroughs at the Intelligent Edge. ADI combines analog, digital, and software technologies to help customers solve complex challenges across industrial automation, automotive, communications, healthcare, energy, and consumer applications.

The Role

ADI's Software & Digital Platforms group is seeking a senior engineer to develop high-quality MATLAB and Simulink models for ADI products. You will join an established modeling team working on visible, customer-focused projects spanning robotics, sensing, audio, motor control, power, and communications.

You will partner with product, systems, applications, and software teams to translate device behavior and system requirements into reusable, validated models. You will also collaborate with MathWorks to apply current MATLAB and Simulink capabilities and strengthen modeling practices across ADI.

Responsibilities

  • Lead model development: Design, implement, and maintain scalable Simulink models and supporting MATLAB code for ADI products and reference systems.
  • Translate requirements: Work with cross-functional stakeholders to convert product requirements, datasheet behavior, and system use cases into clear model specifications.
  • Integrate models: Support integration of models into customer workflows, system-level simulations, automated tests, and ADI development environments.
  • Verify and validate: Define and execute verification plans, create test cases, assess model accuracy, and document traceability to requirements and reference data.
  • Improve quality and performance: Profile, debug, and optimize models for simulation speed, numerical robustness, maintainability, and reuse.
  • Automate development workflows: Contribute to version-controlled development, peer review, continuous integration, regression testing, release packaging, and issue tracking.
  • Document and enable: Create model documentation, examples, test plans, release notes, and user guidance for internal teams and customers.
  • Provide technical leadership: Mentor engineers, review designs and code, promote consistent modeling standards, and help evolve team practices.
  • Collaborate externally: Maintain a productive technical relationship with MathWorks and evaluate relevant MATLAB and Simulink capabilities for ADI modeling needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience developing models in Simulink and MATLAB.
  • Strong understanding of model-based design, system engineering principles, and requirements-driven development.
  • Experience translating hardware behavior or system requirements into maintainable, testable simulation models.
  • Experience with model verification, debugging, and quantitative correlation against reference data or expected behavior.
  • Proficiency with software engineering fundamentals, including version control, code review, testing, and documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7 or more years of Simulink model development experience.
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub workflows, including branching, pull requests, code review, issue tracking, GitHub Actions, and release practices.
  • Experience implementing continuous integration and automated regression testing for MATLAB or Simulink projects.
  • Experience with Simulink Test, Simulink Check, Requirements Toolbox, Model Advisor, or related model quality and verification tools.
  • Experience modeling semiconductor devices, mixed-signal systems, sensors, power electronics, motor control, audio, RF, or communications systems.
  • Familiarity with model packaging, dependency management, reusable libraries, and customer-facing model delivery.
  • Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical work across multiple teams.

What We Offer

  • Challenging, visible work at the intersection of semiconductor products, software, and system simulation.
  • Collaboration with experienced modeling engineers, product teams, customers, and industry partners.
  • Opportunities to shape modeling standards, automation, and reusable workflows across ADI.
  • Flexible hybrid work, professional development opportunities, and a collaborative engineering environment.
