The Role

Your Role

As a Senior SAP SD IS-Retail Functional Consultant, you will serve as a subject matter expert responsible for supporting, enhancing, and optimizing SAP Sales and Distribution processes within a large-scale retail and eCommerce environment. You will drive business continuity across sales channels by managing order-to-cash processes, supporting system integrations, resolving complex production issues, and delivering continuous process improvements aligned with retail business objectives.

What will you do:

• Provide end-to-end support for SAP SD business processes, including sales orders, billing, deliveries, returns, cancellations, and customer refunds.
• Configure and maintain SAP SD functionalities such as order types, pricing procedures, tax determination, shipping rules, and billing processes.
• Support retail and eCommerce operations, including store sales, direct-to-consumer (DTC), dropship, Express Pick-Up, and Ship-to-Store processes.
• Analyze and resolve incidents related to order discrepancies, pricing issues, billing errors, stock mismatches, and process failures.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams supporting SAP FI, MM, Procurement, Planning, EWM, OMS, and logistics operations.
• Support integration between SAP SD, legacy systems, external Order Management Systems (OMS), warehouse systems, and logistics providers.
• Perform root cause analysis using SAP tables, transaction flows, application logs, debugging techniques, and SAP Notes.
• Manage configuration changes, enhancements, and support requests while ensuring compliance with governance and audit requirements.
• Support data migration and data loading activities from legacy and third-party systems using LSMW and related tools.
• Generate, validate, and support operational and management reports related to sales, billing, inventory, and order fulfillment processes.
• Perform SLG1 log monitoring and analysis to identify and resolve transactional and integration issues.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance business process efficiency and system performance.

Required Technical and Professional Experience:

• 10+ years of SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) experience with strong functional and support expertise.
• Experience in at least 1-2 SAP IS-Retail implementations and/or 3-4 SAP SD support engagements with SME-level responsibilities.
• Deep understanding of Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes within retail and eCommerce environments.
• Hands-on experience in SAP SD configuration, customization, and production support.
• Strong expertise in pricing procedures, promotions, tax configuration, returns processing, shipping processes, and billing functions.
• Experience supporting integration between SAP SD and SAP FI, MM, Procurement, Planning, EWM, OMS, and logistics platforms.
• Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex incidents using SAP tables, transaction analysis, debugging techniques, and program-level diagnostics.
• Working knowledge of SAP Notes for issue investigation, analysis, and resolution.
• Experience with legacy system integrations and master/transactional data migration using LSMW.
• Familiarity with SAP application logs, SLG1 monitoring, and incident management processes.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced application support environment.

Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise:

• Experience supporting SAP IS-Retail environments in large retail or omnichannel organizations.
• Strong understanding of retail business processes, including store operations, eCommerce fulfillment, click-and-collect, dropship, and customer return management.
• Expertise in SAP SD integration with SAP EWM, warehouse systems, transportation providers, and third-party logistics solutions.
• Knowledge of retail taxation, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
• Experience supporting hybrid retail and digital commerce operating models.
• Familiarity with Order Management Systems (OMS) and complex order orchestration scenarios.
• Experience working within Application Management Services (AMS) and large-scale support organizations.
• Ability to troubleshoot ambiguous production issues with limited error information and drive resolution independently.
• Strong understanding of audit, governance, compliance, and data privacy requirements.
• Experience leading process improvement initiatives and recommending solutions that enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.
