We are looking to add a Senior Quality Control Inspector to our team. In this role you will support manufacturing and quality operations by performing advanced inspections, evaluating product conformity, and ensuring products consistently meet customer, regulatory, and organizational quality requirements. The Senior Quality Control Inspector contributes to manufacturing excellence by resolving complex inspection issues, identifying process improvement opportunities, and supporting consistent application of quality control standards throughout production.

Working cross-functionally with quality, manufacturing, engineering, operations, and supply chain, this role supports incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities while ensuring products comply with engineering specifications, quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform advanced incoming, in-process, and final product inspections while evaluating complex product characteristics, engineering requirements, and inspection criteria to ensure product conformity.
  • Evaluate product dimensions, workmanship, materials, documentation, and inspection results to identify nonconformances, determine product acceptability, and support timely disposition decisions.
  • Support resolution of complex inspection issues by recommending corrective actions and assisting with containment activities that minimize quality risks and production disruptions.
  • Maintain inspection records, quality documentation, nonconformance reports, calibration records, and quality data in accordance with quality management system requirements.
  • Analyze inspection trends, defect data, and quality metrics to identify recurring issues and recommend improvements that strengthen product quality and manufacturing consistency.
  • Support quality reporting by preparing inspection summaries, documenting quality concerns, and providing inspection data for audits, corrective actions, and management reviews.
  • Partner cross-functionally with quality, manufacturing, engineering, operations, and supply chain to resolve inspection issues and support production priorities.
  • Communicate inspection findings, quality concerns, product discrepancies, and corrective action recommendations to stakeholders to support informed operational decisions.
  • Coordinate inspection activities supporting manufacturing readiness, product acceptance, first article inspections, customer requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Implement quality control process improvements that improve inspection effectiveness, product quality, and manufacturing consistency.
  • Maintain inspection equipment, calibration records, work areas, inspection documentation, and controlled records in accordance with established procedures.
  • Support development of inspection methods, work instructions, and standardized inspection practices while mentoring less experienced inspectors on quality control procedures.
  • JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree, formal occupational training, or industry certification in Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field required. 5–7 years of experience in quality control, inspection, manufacturing, production, or a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of quality control, inspection methodologies, and manufacturing quality principles.
  • Expertise in engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, inspection procedures, and product acceptance criteria.
  • Experience applying advanced inspection techniques, nonconformance reporting, corrective action processes, and controlled documentation practices.
  • Knowledge of precision measurement equipment, calibration practices, inspection planning, and quality control processes.
  • Understanding of quality management systems, product traceability, manufacturing quality requirements, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate inspection trends, identify quality risks, and recommend practical quality improvements.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment when evaluating product conformity, inspection results, manufacturing priorities, customer requirements, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, e.g. Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or equivalent applications.
  • Quality management systems (QMS), e.g. ETQ Reliance, Arena QMS, MasterControl, or equivalent applications.
  • Inspection and measurement systems, e.g. CMM software, digital measurement tools, or equivalent applications.
