Permanent / Hybrid Working (3 days office or onsite / 2 days remote)

Closing Date: 28th October 2026

Purpose

You will coordinate the workload of the Quality Advisors within your area, ensuring that quality risks associated with Construction activities are effectively managed.

Acting as the first point of contact for quality-related matters, you will be responsible for reporting and escalating issues where required, helping to maintain high standards of quality performance across projects.

Working closely with the Quality Manager and Lead Quality, you will support the delivery of SPT (Transmission) Project Quality requirements, objectives and targets. This role also involves providing technical quality advice and training to both Construction teams and Contractors as required, ensuring quality expectations and best practices are understood and consistently applied.

In addition, you will peer review all work being carried out by team members to promote quality, consistency and continuous improvement. You will also maintain regular engagement with your Manager through weekly communications, supporting effective collaboration, alignment and performance within the team.

Responsibilities
You will coordinate and where required, lead a small team of Quality professionals to deliver the commitments outlined within the HSEQ Communication Plan. Working closely with project teams, you will establish, communicate and embed clear processes and procedures to ensure all internal and external quality requirements are consistently achieved. You will also coordinate specific quality working groups and associated commitments that support the successful delivery of the SPT Projects Operating Plan.

This role requires the ability to influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to minimise the impact of company activities on quality, whilst delivering major Construction projects.

You will provide quality support, advice and guidance across the business, undertaking specific quality tasks as required, while influencing, encouraging and monitoring compliance with all quality requirements.

You will play a key role in maintaining and improving Quality Management Systems to support ISO 9001:2015 accreditation, implementing and maintaining corporate standards, driving continuous improvements in the company's culture and approach to quality management. In addition, you will develop and implement new methods, techniques and practices to enhance quality performance and support the achievement of business objectives.

You will prepare quality information to satisfy both annual and ad hoc reporting requirements, ensure quarterly inductions are organised and delivered, organising and participating in stakeholder initiatives such as contractor forums. You will also chair team meetings as required to promote effective communication, collaboration and delivery across the team.

What you’ll bring

With proven experience of delivering similar roles on major energy projects, preferably within the Utility Transmission sector, together with a strong track record of leading teams and managing stakeholder and regulatory relationships, you will bring significant experience of Quality Management Systems, quality auditing and working with external certification bodies, ideally gained within a commercially focused utility, service or construction environment. A Lead Quality Auditing qualification would be advantageous.

You will possess an in-depth knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and demonstrate strong influencing, consulting and communication skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities are essential, alongside sound planning and analytical skills that enable you to anticipate challenges and develop effective solutions. You will also have experience of collaborating with multiple internal and external parties to achieve successful project and business outcomes.

To be successful in the role, you will as a minimum, demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, supported by experience in a relevant field and role, preferably within Construction or Utility projects. You will have an in-depth knowledge of current and developing environmental legislation and ISO 9001 requirements, together with a current valid driving licence.
