Quality Assurance Engineers at MRI collaborate closely with Product Management and Product Development teams to deliver high-quality, high-performance products for our clients. In this role, QA Engineers are responsible for creating and contributing to the documentation of user stories and acceptance criteria, working alongside product owners and development teams. They define the manual and automation testing strategies, tools, scenarios, and plans for both web and mobile products, ensuring comprehensive functional and performance testing.

QA Engineers will execute static, dynamic, and performance testing while providing detailed reporting and feedback throughout the development lifecycle. They are expected to demonstrate strong technical skills, including expertise in back-end development, database queries, and a keen attention to detail. Effective written, verbal, and organizational communication is essential.

In addition, QA Engineers will leverage AI to optimize and automate repetitive tasks, thereby enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of QA processes, ensuring a faster, more accurate testing cycle.

Manual:

Be able to analyze ambiguous, and abstract workflow processes and defines into smaller pieces, patterns and views.

Coordinates QA efforts with development teams to provide technical view of solution.

May lead small-scale enhancements to existing test strategies

Actively participates and assists teams in identifying requirements for quality product.

Writes advanced SQL queries to assist in solution implementations.

Assists in the development of ongoing training for the QA team

Delegate work to more junior team members.

Identifies needs for core security testing.

Spearhead the adoption of AI-powered manual testing strategies, using AI to continuously improve test planning and execution.

Leverage AI to automatically generate test case variations and perform exploratory testing on newly developed features.

Automation:

Develops automated scripts for more complex features of specific applications. Creates, edits, and maintains automation scripts.

Research solutions and/or tools that provide value to MRI.  Independently evaluates and enhances standards, technologies, and approaches to QA practices for specific application

Develop and deliver training for the QA team as needed.

Delegate work to more junior level members.

Delivers continuous testing in support of the QA objectives in DevOps.

Define the strategy for implementing AI in functional automation across multiple products or teams, ensuring AI tools are properly integrated.

Drive the use of AI for test coverage analysis and predictive failure modeling, allowing for early identification of high-risk features.

Coach junior engineers on how to effectively use AI to identify gaps in test coverage and optimize automation scripts.

Performance:

Creates, edits, and maintains more complex performance scripts.

Collaborates with team to implement best practices for performance testing.  Analyzes performance test results for accuracy.

Identifies and communicates specific areas for improvement based on test results.

Education: 

Bachelor’s/master’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or a related area
