The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for providing process support to develop operational transition strategies and monitoring and adherence services for all processes to achieve processing capacity and product quality during the Commissioning, Start-up and Operation stages.
The Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for optimizing and improving engineering processes within FLSmidth S.A. de C.V., guaranteeing operational efficiency, product quality and cost reduction in complex projects.
Position Responsibilities
- Design of the Operational Transition Strategy.
- Definition of recommended ranges and safe limits for each stage of the process.
- Identification of control points and transition criteria between operating scenarios.
- Providing technical support to clients on issues related to laboratory testing and/or metallurgical processes associated with specific projects.
- Initial operational decision trees and deviation management.
- Occasional support for FLS Equipment Commissioning activities related to process issues. Training and instruction. - Monitoring of critical variables, review of constraints. - Evaluation of failure modes, critical spare parts, and ramp-up inspection practices. Adjustment of operational ranges and operating recommendations based on current performance.
- Promoting a culture of safety and self-care, both personally, within the team, and throughout the company, integrating our stakeholders who may be impacted by our activities, and complying with established standards, policies, and requirements. Actively participating in the activities programmed in the annual HSEQA plans and programs; reporting every incident, near miss, substandard act, or condition that occurs and, if required, ensuring their active participation in any investigation.
Job Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of 8 years of experience in process engineering, preferably in the mining industry.
* Solid knowledge of process design, simulation, and optimization.
* Experience using process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and CAD tools (AutoCAD, MicroStation).
* Proven ability to lead projects and technical teams.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Willingness to travel as needed.

This position requires autonomy and proactivity to carry out these types of initiatives. Furthermore, strong communication and client relationship skills will be essential for success in this role. It serves as a gateway to developing new business opportunities across our organization.
Requirements:
8+ years of experience in mining: process plants, equipment, or services with at least 2 years in Plant Operation.
Proven experience in at least one of the following: technical sales, service proposals, equipment or process engineering, and/or consulting on optimization services
