Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Principal Delivery Manager to own the delivery of complex, enterprise-scale data initiatives. This role blends commercial insight, data expertise, and inspirational leadership to deliver business value and advance BP’s data-driven ambitions.

Key Responsibilities

• Enterprise Delivery Leadership: End-to-end delivery of large, data-centric programmes spanning data management, integration, and analytics, aligned to BP’s strategic priorities.
• Executive Engagement: Serve as a trusted partner to senior participants, providing clear, concise communication on progress, risks, dependencies, and outcomes.
• Commercial & Value Focus: Apply strong commercial judgement to optimise investment, improve return on value, and ensure solutions deliver against defined business objectives.
• Data Strategy & Governance Execution: Embed data strategy, governance, quality, compliance, and security standards into all delivery outcomes.
• Technical Data Stewardship: Provide expert oversight across data sourcing, cleansing, transformation, integration (ETL), and data management standard methodologies.
• Insight-Led Decision Making: Champion data analysis and visualisation to track performance, inform decisions, and deliver actionable insights.
• People & Problem Leadership: Lead, coach, and inspire multi-functional teams, driving collaboration and structured problem-solving in complex environments.
• Digital Security & Risk Management: Ensure alignment to BP’s digital security policies and industry standards to protect data and platforms.

Experience & Qualifications

• Extensive senior-level experience delivering complex programmes in data-intensive environments.
• Proven expertise in data management, integration (ETL), transformation, and manipulation.
• Solid command of data strategy, domain knowledge, and governance frameworks.
• Demonstrated capability in data analysis, visualisation, and interpretation.
• Exceptional commercial competence with a track record of delivering tangible business outcomes.
• Outstanding communication skills, able to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
• Credible people leader experienced in leading high-performing teams and group problem-solving.
• Solid grasp of digital security and risk management in data ecosystems.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related quantitative discipline.
