Position Summary

As the Senior Preconstruction Manager at Auld & White Constructors, you’ll lead multiple complex projects through the preconstruction and design phases, from initial concept through turnover to Operations. You’ll oversee project budgets, estimates, schedules, constructability, value management, and procurement planning while working closely with Owners, design teams, trade partners, and internal project teams. This role also provides senior-level technical leadership and mentorship to the preconstruction team while helping identify risks, develop solutions, and set projects up for successful execution.

Position Description

• Lead preconstruction efforts for large-scale and complex projects from conceptual design through turnover to Operations.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to Preconstruction Managers, Estimators, and other team members.
• Support project pursuits through preconstruction strategies, interviews, presentations, proposal development, and other work-acquisition activities.
• Develop and manage project budgets and estimates while identifying cost trends, risks, scope gaps, and potential exposures.
• Lead preconstruction meetings, design-phase coordination, and presentations with Owners, design teams, and executive leadership.
• Perform constructability reviews and develop value management recommendations to improve project efficiency and execution.
• Develop and maintain project schedules during the design phase, including design milestones, permitting, procurement, and construction activities.
• Develop subcontractor and supplier procurement strategies, engage key trade partners during design, and evaluate proposals for scope completeness, market coverage, and pricing.
• Lead the preconstruction-to-operations turnover process and contribute to the continuous improvement of preconstruction processes and best practices.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Building Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• 7+ years of commercial construction experience, including leading preconstruction efforts on complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and constructability.
• Experience with design coordination, value management, and procurement planning.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and construction estimating/project management software.
