BUCHAREST OFFICEJob Description
The Senior Operations & Integrations Manager is an operational leader who owns the reliability, integrations, and day-to-day operation of cloud-based web applications, APIs, and services on GCP across our Social Digital Products area — spanning the Key Opinion Leader (KOL) / influencer marketing platform and the new Agentic Social Response app. Beyond keeping the lights on, this role sets operational direction, defines reusable integration and reliability patterns, raises the operational bar through governance and mentorship, and partners with architects, engineering, and product leadership to shape the platform roadmap. A core part of the role is managing the external vendor teams that perform day-to-day operations — directing their work, holding them to quality and SLA expectations, and running regular (e.g., monthly) operational reviews — as well as maintaining strong relationships with our integration partners (such as social platforms) to ensure they deliver against our requirements. The role supports the Social Digital Products space and acts as the go-to operational and integrations authority across both products.
Key Responsibilities
- Own operational excellence end-to-end across the KOL platform and the Agentic Social Response app — defining and holding SLOs/SLAs and error budgets, and driving the portfolio toward reliable, observable, self-healing operations across the Next.js UI, FastAPI microservices, and Cloud Spanner / BigQuery data stores.
- Manage the external vendor teams responsible for day-to-day operations — setting priorities and expectations, directing and reviewing their work, holding them accountable to quality and SLA commitments, and running regular operational reviews (e.g., monthly) with clear metrics, actions, and follow-through.
- Maintain ongoing relationships with integration partners — including social platforms (Meta, TikTok) and third-party providers — to ensure they deliver against our requirements, influence their roadmaps and timelines, and validate and test the APIs they build (functionality, contracts, performance, and reliability) before and during integration.
- Lead incident management end-to-end — triage, response, stakeholder communication, and blameless post-incident reviews — and build the runbooks, monitoring, and alerting (Cloud Logging / Monitoring) that keep services healthy and that vendor teams operate against.
- Set direction for safe delivery and operations — release, change, and environment-promotion practices (dev → stage → prod) that keep deployments auditable, low-risk, and repeatable across both products.
- Lead the design, hardening, and operation of integrations with social platforms (Meta, TikTok), third-party influencer marketplaces, web-scraping / content-extraction pipelines, brand-guideline systems and internal P&G systems — ensuring resilience, observability, graceful degradation, and maintainability.
- Own the integration lifecycle and cross-project connectivity — API/versioning strategy, service-to-service authentication (WIF, OIDC, service accounts), networking and VPC-SC perimeter / cross-project egress — partnering with networking and security teams to raise and validate the required bridges and grants.
- Drive the operationalization of GenAI / agentic capabilities — using Vertex AI (Gemini), OpenAI / Anthropic, and LangChain / LangGraph via P&G's governed GenAI gateway — through guardrails, human-in-the-loop review, evaluation, monitoring, and cost/latency optimization.
- Operate GCP services (Cloud Run, Cloud Workflows, Cloud Build, Pub/Sub, Secret Manager, Cloud Logging) and lead the platform's evolution toward reusable, self-serve, well-governed operational patterns.
- Own operational data flows across BigQuery and Cloud Spanner for transactional and analytical workloads — applying parameterized queries, partitioning, clustering, and cost-aware design — and support embedded Looker / LookML reporting for operational and business visibility.
- Embed quality and security into CI/CD and hold both internal and vendor teams to it — unit and integration tests (pytest, jest), E2E tests (Playwright), SonarQube, Snyk, and gitleaks — alongside secrets management, least-privilege access governance, and audit logging.
- Advance infrastructure-as-code governance with Terraform for GCP project and landing-zone resources, driving self-serve provisioning, policy guardrails, and best practices.
- Mentor and grow engineers and operations staff through pairing, operational design guidance, and reviews; foster a culture of operational excellence, observability-first thinking, and knowledge sharing across internal and vendor teams.
- Partner closely with product managers, business analysts, architects, QA, and external vendor/partner teams to shape requirements, translate architecture blueprints into operable delivery plans, run operational cadences, and ensure solutions are resilient, fit for use, and aligned with the long-term vision.
- Proactively identify, design, and lead performance, reliability, and cost-reduction initiatives, and uphold operational standards and best practices so services and integrations stay efficient, secure, scalable, and reusable.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Extensive experience operating and integrating production cloud systems, with a proven track record of owning the reliability, integrations, and day-to-day operation of full-stack web applications and services end-to-end.
- Demonstrated experience managing external/vendor operations teams — directing their work, setting priorities and SLAs, and running regular operational/service reviews (e.g., monthly) with clear metrics and follow-through.
- Demonstrated experience managing integration partner relationships (e.g., social platforms, third-party providers) — holding them to our requirements, influencing their roadmaps and timelines, and validating and testing the APIs they build (functionality, contracts, performance, reliability).
- Solid understanding of modern web architectures and microservice design patterns, with the ability to evaluate, review, and justify architecture- and integration-level decisions.
- Strong working knowledge of TypeScript, React 18+, and Next.js App Router (server/client components, route handlers, BFF pattern) — sufficient to oversee, review, and operate front-end services.
- Strong working knowledge of Python 3.11+ and FastAPI, including Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, and async patterns — sufficient to oversee, review, and operate back-end microservices.
- Strong, applied knowledge of GCP (Cloud Run, Cloud Workflows, BigQuery, Cloud Spanner, IAM, Secret Manager, Pub/Sub, Cloud Logging) and Terraform, with hands-on experience operating services in production.
- Demonstrated experience operationalizing GenAI / LLM services — e.g. Vertex AI / Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain / LangGraph — including evaluation, guardrails, human-in-the-loop, and cost/latency management.
- Solid experience with Docker and containerized deployment, and with release, change, and environment-promotion practices (dev → stage → prod).
- Strong SQL skills and working proficiency in TypeScript and Python, with the ability to read, debug, and validate code across the stack.
- Proven experience defining test strategy and overseeing automated testing (pytest, jest, Playwright), and holding teams to quality and security tooling (SonarQube, Snyk, gitleaks) in CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong command of REST and GraphQL API design, OpenAPI/Swagger, and conventional commits — with the ability to specify requirements for, and test/validate, partner- and vendor-built APIs.
- Strong working knowledge of the OWASP Top 10 and secure operational practices (no hardcoded secrets, input validation, parameterized queries, HTTPS-only, least-privilege access), with the ability to guide others in applying them
- Experience with operational practices — monitoring and alerting, incident management, and cost management / FinOps — across cloud services.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and operations staff, lead reviews, and drive technical and operational standards across internal and vendor teams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders, vendors, and integration partners, and to clearly articulate technical and operational trade-offs.
- Nice to have: embedded analytics with Looker / LookML; ITSM / ITIL service-management experience; program/project management experience (Agile / SAFe); experience managing outsourced delivery and vendor contracts/SLAs; experience contributing to platform / self-serve tooling used by other teams.
